Summary: 

Veruna is seeking an experienced UX Designer, preferably from the insurance agency domain, to help enhance our user experience and support the growth of Veruna through the adoption and expansion of our products. Working in an Agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with our Product team to understand project requirements, customer pain points and user insights to help define a product vision that supports Veruna’s product roadmap.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead end-to-end design efforts, from research and concept through launch, in close collaboration with our Product team. 
  • Represent and champion the customer and agent perspective in design, creation and delivery of product initiatives. 
  • Develop wireframes/prototypes and optimize flows for agent-centric experiences, driving engagement. 
  • Establish design standards for new and existing functionality for Product team. 
  • Decrease time to goal through optimization of the UI to drive goal achievement efficiency.  
  • Research best practices and similar products to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences.  
  • Set design requirements for new features. 
  • Contribute to, enhance and maintain UI component libraries for re-use. 
  • Enhance user experience by creating seamless navigation through various digital programs and interfaces within the company. 
  • Engage closely with our mid-market and enterprise customers to understand their inventory and purchasing processes to translate into product capabilities.  
  • Support both functional and technical discussions with Engineering to ensure products meet market and customer needs. 
  • Collaborate with all facets of the Product team through the design, development, release, testing, and maintenance of the product to ensure successful customer outcomes and adoption.  
  • Keep up to date on competitor products and industry trends.  
  • Perform other tasks/projects as needed

Exhibiting excellent communication skills, they ensure smooth and efficient collaboration with other team members and stakeholdersIn addition to these general skills and personality traits, we are looking for a UX Designer with the following skills: 

  • Communication Skills?– Exceptional communication and organizational skills. Able to serve as a liaison between senior management and the development team.  
  • Customer-Obsessed Able to put the customers’ needs first and maintain a customer-centric approach to design. You are also able to put yourself in a customer’s shoes- empathy is a vital skill within UX design.  
  • Analytical/Critical Thinking Skills – Able to employ strong analytical skills to understand desires of our existing market and identify barriers to extending our service to a larger audience. 
  • Art of Discernment – Able to look at a problem carefully from all angles to pave the right path forward, putting the customer at the center of your decision.  
  • Ability to Multitask?– Ability to multitask and prioritize activities effectively under aggressive timelines, while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 

 

What You Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Studies in UX, human-computer interaction, graphic design, IS, communications field a plus)
  • Prior experience working in the P&C Insurance industry  
  • 3 or more years practicing human-centered design 
  • Passion for reaching out to customers, listening to customers and discovering their business needs 
  • Proficient in wireframing tools and process for communicating functional requirement 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and an ability to persuasively articulate design rationale 
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to deliver on commitments and timelines  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and an ability to persuasively articulate design rationale 
  • Demonstrated experience presenting product value, benefit, proposals, and status to peers and management 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth, start-up environment  
  • Prior cloud computing / SaaS experience  
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies like Scrum  

 

What Will Make You Stand Out: 

  • Prior experience with Salesforce or Salesforce UX Certification 
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline
