About you

VSCO is looking for a User Researcher Lead to develop and drive our user insights practice. You will work with partners across the company to uncover opportunities, develop actionable insights and foster a curious and empathetic approach to solution design. As part of the Design & Research team, you will shape our research approach and contribute to the development of thoughtful experiences that impact millions of creators worldwide. 

The day-to-day

  • Work closely with Product, Product Design, and Marketing teams to align on strategy and hone our product vision and roadmap
  • Identify gaps and areas of opportunity to help define what Research looks like at our organization
  • Execute and oversee end-to-end research efforts, from requirement gathering, definition and planning, participant recruiting, execution, and synthesis, and analysis
  • Conduct and collaborate on qualitative and quantitative investigations with a strategic application of research methods (ex. surveys, interviews, concept testing, usability testing, and diary studies)
  • Ensure findings across the team are translated into relevant and actionable insights
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across all levels of company to deepen our understanding and empathy for creators and their needs
  • Manage our small Research team, define team goals and processes, and prioritize a project backlog

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional user research experience
  • Past experience building a research practice a start-up environment
  • Experience incorporating user research into Agile product development
  • Experience researching consumer products
  • A track record of leading comprehensive research with demonstrated business impact 
  • Solid working knowledge of the latest design tools and online research tools for recruiting, testing, etc.
  • An understanding of technical limitations and an ability to advocate for concepts cross-functionally
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills
  • Familiarity with the creator experience and digital creative platforms

Compensation

 The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary range for this role is $170,190 - $180,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for bonuses and equity (i.e. stock options). The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks are also offered for this position.
