šŸ‘‹  Hey, Iā€™m Skyler - Chief Technology Officer here at Dwolla.  Iā€™m looking for an intuitive and experienced UX designer to join my small-but-mighty Product team.

Here is what you can expect to work on in this critical role on my team:

You'll be diving into complex challenges alongside world-class product managers and engineers and play a pivotal role in disrupting the financial technology landscape by creating intuitive and user-centered experiences that empower Dwolla customers to navigate our solutions with ease.  From sketching wireframes based on in-depth user research to iterating on designs through rapid prototyping, your days will be packed with opportunities to make a tangible impact. 

As a Dwolla UX Designer, your passion lies in fueling positive user experiences.   You thrive in a collaborative, agile environment where your problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills shine.  You utilize both creative and analytical approaches to UX challenges and draw insights from user research and the entire Dwolla teamā€™s diverse perspectives. 

Each design decision you make flows from a deep understanding of our usersā€™ needs and goals. 
Your goal is to ultimately shape a smooth, intuitive, and delightful experience that will directly impact how users engage with Dwolla, driving adoption and satisfaction.  

While no two days are the same, here is how you can expect to spend your time: 

50% - individually working on your assigned projects. This could mean designing mockups, working on research plans and interview scripts, analyzing data, doing competitive reviews
20% - customer or internal client interviews or surveys or preparing for gathering feedback
20% - syncing with senior product managers and engineering team, to gather feedback and bounce ideas off one another
10% - routine company meetings like All company meetings, standups, retros, Product team meetings

What else is expected of a UX Designer at Dwolla?

    • Designing with a user-centric approach, from product discovery to iteration, using lean user experience design methodologies and rapid prototyping in Figma
    • Youā€™ll be embedded within a cross-functional, agile team to lead user research, usability testing, and customer feedback sessions
    • Crafting beautiful and useful product solutions, refining existing visual components, and contributing to the evolution of Dwolla's design system
    • Developing user personas and behavior models, ensuring every design decision flows from a deep understanding of our users' needs
    • Effectively communicating your design vision to stakeholders and incorporating their feedback for seamless implementation
    • Staying ahead of the curve through professional development opportunities and contributing to the growth of Dwolla's UX
    • Conducting ongoing competitor research and analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and user experience improvement

What are the preferred qualifications for this position?

    • 2+ years of UX Design experience required - You must have a link to your portfolio on your resumeDemonstrated passion for crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences, evidenced by a strong portfolio and relevant projects
    • Proven ability to embrace iterative design processes, testing, and refining concepts based on user feedback
    • Experience designing and prototyping complex user flows for interactive web applications
    • Strong passion for design and user experience problem solving
    • Proficiency in UX design tools like Figma or Sketch and familiarity with agile methodologies
    • Collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams like product managers, engineers, and other business stakeholders
    • Willingness to test, fail, learn and iterate
    • Self-motivation and excellent problem-solving skills
    • Ability to clearly present design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences through strong written and verbal communication skills
