Lead UI/UX Product Designer

This is a hybrid-remote role requiring on-site work in London 1-2 days per week.

Stacklok is on a mission to empower developers and organizations to safeguard their software supply chains with unparalleled security and confidence.

The security tools of today aren’t loved by developers and part of the disdain can be attributed to lackluster user interfaces and experiences. At Stacklok, we’re looking to push the status quo when it comes to the design of cyber security products and seek a Lead UI/UX Product Designer to help us rewrite the narrative.

We plan to launch the first iteration of the SaaS version of our Minder platform later this year. We're in need of a product design lead with a near fanatical obsession for cutting-edge user experience and a track record of delivering exceptional design solutions. They will work directly with our CTO to design and ship Minder's first commercial user interface.

Role Success: 6-12 Month Expectations

• Deliver the commercial UI/UX design of Stacklok’s security product SaaS.
• Establish a seamless integration with the product and engineering teams, ensuring close collaboration and alignment with product goals, development timelines, and technical requirements. 
• Actively participate in product planning meetings, sprint planning sessions, and daily stand-ups.
• Lead and mentor our fledgling design team and help grow the organization inline with Stackloks continued growth and expansion.
• Implement a streamlined design process that aligns with the overall product and engineering cadence and processes. This includes refining the workflow for gathering requirements, conducting user research, creating design concepts, iterating on feedback, and delivering final designs to engineering for implementation.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of user needs and pain points within the software supply chain security sector. 
• Translate user insights into innovative and user-centric design solutions that enhance the overall user experience of our products. 
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate on designs and improve usability.
• Think outside of the box and leverage your creativity to develop unique and compelling user experiences that differentiate our products in the market. 
• Strive to delight users and make them want to return to our products by delivering intuitive, visually appealing, and engaging user interfaces.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience designing commercial user interfaces and developing design systems for enterprise SaaS products, particularly within domains such as cybersecurity, developer tooling, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure, would be highly advantageous.
• Experience acting as a senior leader within a team of talented designers.
• Deep understanding of frontend development and awareness of commonly used frontend development libraries such as MaterialUI, RadixUI, and Tailwind.
• Understanding of technical limitations across different platforms, such as Desktop vs. Mobile, and the ability to evaluate implementation tradeoffs.
• Experience with analytics and user behavior tools, including but not limited to FullStory, Heap, and Google Analytics,
• A solid grasp of good design characteristics, measurements, approaches, as well as UX concepts and best practices, with a willingness to apply them
• Expert fluency with tools such as Figma
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
