The Role:

The mission of the UI/UX Product Designer is to design and create digital products and experiences that are engaging, intuitive, and user-centered. The UI/UX Product Designer is responsible for designing the user interface and user experience of digital products, ensuring that they are visually appealing, easy to use, and meet the needs of the target audience. The UI/UX Product Designer must work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Client Success, and Development, to ensure that user needs and business objectives are effectively incorporated into the design of the product. The ultimate goal of the UI/UX Product Designer is to create digital products and experiences that meet user needs, exceed user expectations, and drive business success.

Requirements

  • User Research: Conduct UX research to gather insights and feedback from target users, and use that feedback to inform the design of user-centered digital products.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes and prototypes that effectively communicate the user experience and design of digital products.
  • UI Design: Design visually appealing user interfaces that effectively communicate the functionality and purpose of digital products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Client Success, and Development, to ensure that user needs and business objectives are effectively incorporated into the design of the product.
  • Design Systems: Develop and maintain design systems that ensure consistency and coherence across all digital products and experiences.
  • User Testing: Conduct user testing to validate the effectiveness of digital products and experiences and identify areas for improvement.
  • Accessibility: Ensure that digital products and experiences are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
  • Emerging Trends: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in UI/UX design & eCommerce, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improve the user experience of digital products.

Experience

  • User-Centered Design: Design digital products and experiences that are focused on meeting user needs and delivering an exceptional user experience.
  • Accessible Design: Design digital products that adhere to accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.1+.
  • Visual Design: Design visually appealing user interfaces that effectively communicate the functionality and purpose of digital products.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including presenting design concepts and user research findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze complex design problems and develop effective solutions that balance user needs and business objectives.
  • Agile Development: Work within the Agile development methodology, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives, and communicating effectively with the development team to ensure that design deliverables are integrated into the product development process.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a strong understanding of the core concepts related to front-end development technologies, and be able to effectively communicate design requirements to the development team and also to be able to act on technical constraints that require alternative design decisions to solve problems.
  • Design Tools: Possess a strong understanding of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision, and be able to effectively communicate design requirements to the development team.
  • User Research: Have experience working with common UX research methodologies, including assisting the UX Researcher developing user personas, conducting usability testing, and analysing user feedback.
  • Leadership: Have experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Prototyping: Possess experience creating interactive prototypes and animations to effectively communicate design concepts and functionality to stakeholders and users.
  • UX Writing: Have experience with UX writing, including crafting effective microcopy that helps users navigate digital products and experiences.
  • AI and Emerging Technologies: Be intuitively open to learning and considering design solutions to emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and be able to effectively design digital products and experiences that leverage these technologies to deliver an exceptional user experience.
