Casper Canada is a leading sleep company that initially launched in the US in 2014 with one perfect mattress sold directly to consumers. Its product line of obsessively engineered sleep products has expanded to include sheets, pillows, bed frames, and a dog mattress. In 2023, Casper Canada joined Sleep Country Canada's family of brands.
Our small and highly collaborative Canadian team is looking to add a talented and experienced UX/UI Design Manager. The UX/UI Design Manager is responsible for creating intuitive, measurable, and visually pleasing user interfaces for Casper Canada’s products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, designing wireframes and prototypes, and iterating designs based on user feedback and rigorous experimentation tracking. The UX/UI Design Manager ensures that the final product aligns with user needs and business objectives while also delivering a seamless and delightful user experience.
Our ideal candidate is team-oriented, versatile, collaborative, and eager to take on the different challenges that come with working for an omnichannel organization. You will have experience creating a cohesive style guide, testing and tracking changes to ensure maximum efficiency, ensuring a consistent design language, maintaining consistency in visual elements, and defining design behaviour.
What You'll Do:
- Develop user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to communicate design concepts and validate user interactions
- Employ a user-centric design approach to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that meet user needs and business goals
- Create and maintain information architecture and sitemaps to ensure efficient navigation and content organization
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and behaviours
- Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather user feedback and make iterative improvements to designs
- Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design systems, and design specifications
- Design visually appealing user interfaces, including layouts, colour schemes, typography, and iconography, adhering to brand guidelines
- Ensure that designs are accessible and compliant with relevant accessibility standards and guidelines
- Oversee developers to allocate work, provide guidance on their initiatives, and provide mentorship to contribute to their growth
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to ensure alignment between design, development, and business goals
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of experience as a UX/UI designer with a portfolio showcasing your work
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Analytical and results-obsessed
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar
- Strong understanding of user-centric design principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with usability testing and user research methodologies
- Knowledge of web and mobile design trends and technologies
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and front-end development is a plus
