About the Role:

We’re looking for a talented UI/UX Artist to work across some of our most successful titles and creative properties.

You will work within our development teams to create amazing experiences that engage and entertain. Depending on the title being worked on the role may include, but not be limited to: UX flows and mockups, finished screen and UI asset design, system design, interaction design, animation and VFX, and in-game implementation. You will also collaborate with other artists to help grow the craft of UI/UX within PikPok.

You will be a confident and willing communicator, able to present your ideas clearly and work closely with other disciplines both within and outside the team. We need someone who appreciates and values close collaboration and effective teamwork as a means to achieve consistently great results.

Requirements

The Experienced UI/UX Artist’s responsibilities include:

  • Contributing directly to UI/UX art and design on PikPok projects under guidance of senior staff and project leads, including but not limited to:
    • Designing and developing screen mockups, assets, effects and animation.
    • Laying out screens in-engine (Unity).
    • Producing flow designs and mockups.
  • Designing creative, effective solutions to project UI/UX problems, and working closely with other disciplines to ensure those designs are clear, practical and meet the needs of the game design and constraints.
  • Working constructively with other artists and designers, and management, to help solve issues and improve the craft of UI/UX within PikPok.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven capability in fundamental graphic design practice: layout and composition, typography, colour theory, etc.
  • Proven capability in fundamental UX design practice: wireframing, empathy and presentation.
    • Understanding of accessibility principles and experience designing accessible interfaces.
    • Ability to organise and structure content effectively for intuitive navigation and user flow
  • Professional experience developing UI in modern game engines, such as Unity and Unreal.
  • Developed skills in general image creation and manipulation – you should be able to work in Photoshop and/or Illustrator to a high quality, production-ready standard.
  • Creatively minded, with a good understanding of the needs of the player. But also analytical and results driven with a strong level of curiosity and drive to discover the why’s and the how’s.
  • The ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while also working effectively across a diverse range of styles.
  • A keen eye for motion graphics, animation and visual effects.
  • Strong competency with prototyping software such as Figma.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • A strong aptitude for developing new skills, and expanding one’s creative knowledge.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate design ideas and decisions.
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude, great work ethic and strong sense of initiative.
  • A developed understanding of (and appreciation for) video games as a creative medium.

Desired Experience Profile

Experienced UI/UX Artist is a mid level role. We’re seeking candidates with at least 4 year’s experience contributing towards projects in active development and/or post launch - or equivalent experience elsewhere if no specific games industry experience.
