What's the Short Version?

The UX Researcher is a critical role within the product development team, responsible for uncovering deep user insights to inform and guide the design and development of our products and services. This position requires an expert understanding of research methodologies and a proven track record in applying user-centered research to drive design decisions. The UX Researcher works closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure that user needs and behaviors are at the forefront of the design process.

 

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations; utilize methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies to gather data.
  • Analyze research data to generate actionable insights that inform and validate design decisions; present findings in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineers to integrate research findings into the product development process; facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to translate insights into design solutions.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze usability tests to assess the effectiveness of design solutions; provide recommendations for improvements based on user feedback.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products; apply this knowledge to propose innovative research methods and design solutions.
  • Create comprehensive research reports, personas, journey maps, and other deliverables that communicate research findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; advocate for user-centered design principles and the value of UX research across the organization.
  • Mentor junior researchers and designers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in UX research, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered research and its impact on product design.
  • Proficient in a variety of research methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying research findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with UX design tools such as Figma is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative environment.

 

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $110,000 - $145,000 annually, depending on experience.

 

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.

 

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required. #LI-REMOTE
