ROLE:
Mid-Senior UX Designer (Freelance)
Duration: 1 month contract project to start with the possibility of extension.
Location: Milwaukee Metro Area. Although mostly remote, we will meet at a local coffee shop for internal design kickoffs, brainstorming, strategies and feedback sessions
Part time hours. (Up to 20 hours per week)
Available between 9 - 4pm CST Weekdays
We do not work on weekends

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented and innovative mid to senior level UX Designer to join our team on a part-time freelance basis. As a UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional human-centered digital products that deliver a seamless and delightful user experience. Your primary focus will be on understanding user needs, designing intuitive interfaces, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring products to life. This initial contract will be for one month, with the possibility of extension. Opportunity to work on an exciting project with a growing company and explore the potential of AI in design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams to translate product vision into cohesive user-centered design solutions, driving business goals and potentially incorporating AI elements.
Lead design initiatives and contribute to the overall strategy and vision of your project.
Advocate for the user, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of design decisions.
Conduct user research (as needed) to understand needs and pain points.
Design clear and concise wireframes, userflows, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and user interfaces that effectively communicate design ideas and interactions.
Develop and maintain a user-centric information architecture.
Participate in client presentations and effectively communicate design decisions.
Create comprehensive design documentation for our clients.
Manage your time effectively and maintain a clear schedule within a part-time structure.
Utilize prototyping tools like ProtoPie, Marvel, Proto.io, or Framer to create interactive prototypes that demonstrate user flows and functionality (familiarity with at least one of these tools is preferred).
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience preferred in UX design (with a background in visual design or motion a plus)

Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences
Deep expertise in Figma.
Proficiency in prototyping tools like ProtoPie, Marvel, Proto.io, or Framer.
The ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and group-think sessions and to walk clients through your findings and recommendations.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Time management skills and the ability to set and adhere to schedules.
Some experience with AI applications, particularly chatbots and AI image creation
Comfort with rapid ideation using hand-drawn sketches and whiteboarding techniques.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UX and UI design projects and demonstrating your problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in an Agile development is a plus
Experience in the climate sector, climate tech, female tech or related industries a plus
