The UX/UI Designer is responsible for the overall process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. He/she should have experience working in agile teams with developers and copywriters and must be able to make deliberate design decisions translating any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

\r\n

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Collaborate cross-functionally and enthusiastically with project management and developers to ensure an effective development process
Conduct comprehensive stakeholder and customer interviews to uncover requirements and UX challenges
Develop user personas, storyboarding, user journeys, wireframes, sitemaps, workflows and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
Conducting usability testing
Creating product prototypes and iterated based on feedback
Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
Assisting with content development
Conducting competitor and customer analysis
Ability to effectively manage time while working on multiple assignments with guidance as to relative priorities of assignments.
Clearly and regularly communicate with management, technical support colleagues, and software developers
AWS experience and certification is a plus
Present and defend your design decisions to clients. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
Continually stay up to date with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
Create new print ready graphics, flyers, brochures and signage
Create compelling graphics for social media and web use.
Understanding of the printing process and specifications
Familiarity with production and rendering methods, including drawing, offset printing, photography, interactive media
Amend designs after feedback
Conceptualize visuals based on requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

\r\n

Advanced degree in design, fine arts or related field (or equivalent graphic design experience)
Minimum of 12 months experience with UX research and design
Proven track-record of hands-on user-interface design and research
Must possess proven experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc
Expert level proficiency with common design software, in particular adobe XD and Adobe Creative Suite
Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript
Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
Receptive to objective criticism and have the ability to improve upon it

About the Role

The Sr. Product Designer will work directly with Dutchie’s Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer and play a significant role in the design process to help drive the user experience. This is a high impact role, where you’ll be directly responsible for the creation of features that will ship to production on a daily basis. You’ll also work with our CPO to design large-scale projects that represent significant milestones on the product roadmap and move us closer towards achieving our larger goals and vision. As the first design hire, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our design-culture from the ground up, iterating and advancing new design techniques, methodologies, and practices within the organization.

What You’ll Do

Lead design projects across the entire product lifecycle and multiple product launches
Work with small multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll partner closely with engineering and other business departments to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges
Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way
Responsible for UX/UI design across web and mobile platforms
Implement design patterns and elements which work best for different workflows and types of information
Responsible for typography, color, layout, graphics, visual effects, imagery, iconography, texture, mood
Employ a user-focused mindset to advocate for the user throughout the design process
Contribute to our design system and enforce visual design consistency
Generate high-quality web and app experiences based upon specified features and functions
Map new and unfamiliar user features in an intuitive way
Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to connect back-end development to the experience and resolve connectivity issues
Ability to drive deliverables to deadlines independently
Openness to collaboration and team-based problem solving
Design features and large-scale projects on an aggressive schedule

What You Bring

BA degree in Design or a related field or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience designing for web and mobile

Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines
3+ years of experience designing functional, well-loved products (big or small)
