Summary:
As a UX Researcher on the NPE team, you will have the unique opportunity to work within a closely integrated pod, enjoying significant autonomy to conceive, build, and launch innovative new products. Research is a cornerstone of this organization’s success, requiring formative research to uncover latent needs or problems, iterative design research to shape initial product concepts into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research to optimize and prepare products for market readiness.
Job Scope: The position seeks a UX Researcher with 3–5 years of qualitative research experience. The ideal candidate will excel in executing and delivering research findings, while collaborating effectively with researchers and cross-functional partners (XFNs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with researchers, designers, product managers (PMs), and engineers to define, develop, and deliver impactful products.
- Independently and collaboratively create and execute research roadmaps.
- Lead research studies across all stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to product strategies, execution plans, and go-to-market efforts.
- Manage research vendors to complement and expand the capabilities of the research team.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on expertise in designing, conducting, analyzing, and delivering qualitative research.
- Experience managing research vendors.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey research findings to less research-savvy audiences.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with cross-functional partners, including PMs, data scientists (DS), and product designers (PD).
Additional Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong capacity to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple demands.
- Experience leveraging data to define and validate hypotheses.
- Proficiency in storytelling to engage and influence diverse audiences.
- Confidence in making autonomous decisions to balance competing priorities.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a human behavior-related field such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics.
Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite)
Role type: Contract 9 Month Position
