Senior UX/UI Designer & Storyteller Role Description
We are building a cutting-edge system to help inform policy professionals interested in medical and health policy within Canada. To achieve this, we seek a Senior UX/UI Designer & Storyteller who can take a project from concept to final, public-ready product. This role is perfect for a designer who excels at transforming complex, information-dense systems into clear, user-friendly, and visually compelling experiences. Experience in healthcare design and/or data engineering are a plus but not required. This role will involve working with a seasoned leader in the technology industry. Qualifications
UX/UI design experience with a portfolio showcasing end-to-end projects, from concept to public release.
Proven ability to simplify complex systems and create intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
Strong expertise in layout, hierarchy, organization, and visual clarity.
Proficiency in Figma and other design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.).
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.
Job Duties & Description of Responsibilities
Concept-to-Release Ownership: Lead the design of a project from scratch through to the final product that will be released to end-users.
Information Architecture & Hierarchy: Structure large volumes of content clearly, guiding user attention with a logical flow and progressive disclosure.
Clarity & Readability: Apply excellent typography, spacing, and visual cues to make interfaces easy to read and understand.
Accessibility & Inclusive Design: Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG), supporting diverse users, including clinicians, administrators, and patients.
Data Visualization: Present complex data clearly and intuitively using charts, tables, dashboards, and visual cues.
Design Systems & Prototyping: Build and maintain design systems, interactive prototypes, and front-end-ready designs using Figma, with knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS as a plus.
Storytelling & Communication: Present design concepts and rationale effectively, translating complex workflows into intuitive visual narratives.
