Part of Design & Customer Experience (DCE), you'll guide the visual design direction for our website alongside another Visual Designer, collaborating closely with marketing, product, and technology teams.
This is a hands-on role—bringing deep expertise in crafting exceptional, on-brand web experiences for leading brands. Your work will focus on delivering engaging, high-quality digital experiences that educate customers, drive consideration, and support acquisition goals.
While creativity is important, your strength lies in understanding what makes a web experience truly effective—balancing brand, usability, and performance. You’re visual-first, with UX fundamentals to help optimise web journeys through testing, iteration, and measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
Visual Design Direction: Guide the visual direction for (the bank's) web presence, ensuring consistency, brand alignment, and high standards across markets.
Exceptional Web Experiences: Hands-on design and delivery of web interfaces, applying mastery of motion, typography, iconography, colour, and interaction design to create distinctive, memorable experiences that are both beautiful and effective.
Brand Implementation: Interpret and apply (the bank's) brand identity with depth and nuance, creating immersive web experiences that set the standard for brand expression for web across different markets.
Support Marketing & Acquisition: Collaborate with marketing teams to design visual solutions that inform, inspire, and convert customers—supporting the funnel through iterative optimisation and experimentation.
Journey & Funnel Optimisation: Use data, insights, and UX fundamentals (hierarchy, interaction patterns, accessibility) to improve customer journeys and drive acquisition performance.
Technical Partnership: Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, performant, and aligned with technical and regulatory guardrails.
Design Guidance For Web: Guide and mentor other designers, providing feedback, direction, and support to ensure high-quality outcomes and consistency across projects.
Immediate Impact: Bring your expertise to deliver immediate value, working autonomously and collaboratively to drive projects forward.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with content writers, UX researchers, product owners and business stakeholders to shape information architecture, page structure, and end-to-end web journeys—owning experience design tasks to deliver cohesive experiences.
Design System Contribution: Evolve and maintain our web design system for use across multiple markets, ensuring brand consistency and scalability.
Visual Governance: Champion high standards for visual quality, accessibility, and usability.
Stakeholder Communication: Present and articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels with clarity and confidence.
What You’ll Bring:
Proven Expertise: Senior or Lead Visual/UI Designer with demonstrable experience crafting exceptional, on-brand web experiences for reputable or leading brands. Your portfolio showcases hands-on mastery of visual craft and strategic thinking.
Visual Design Mastery: Deep expertise in motion, typography, iconography, colour, and interaction design, with a proven ability to apply these skills hands-on to create effective, engaging web experiences across different markets.
Brand Understanding: Deep understanding of brand identity systems and proven ability to interpret and bring them to life through immersive, engaging web experiences.
Marketing Mindset: Experience designing for the marketing funnel, with an understanding of how web design supports education, consideration, and acquisition.
Technical Fluency: Strong awareness of web technologies, performance considerations, and the importance of working within technical and regulatory guardrails.
Data-Driven Approach: Experience using analytics and insights to optimise design for performance and conversion.
Design Direction: Experience providing design direction, feedback, and guidance to other designers, helping elevate their work and maintain quality standards.
Self-Starter: Ability to quickly integrate into a team, understand context, and deliver high-quality work with minimal ramp-up time.
Collaboration: Proven ability to align cross-functional partners and drive integrated outcomes from concept to delivery.
Design Tools: Mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and modern design systems.
Communication: Ability to clearly present and advocate for design solutions to diverse audiences with confidence and clarity.
Education: Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, User Interface Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
