Responsibilities
Thought leader with experience educating business, product management, and engineering partners on the value of user-centered design and design thinking.
Handle multiple channels of internal input in a complex organization (B2B, B2C, and In-Venue Retail) and user feedback; be decisive at balancing conflicting inputs and helping the teams find the right solutions and make the right tradeoffs.
Proactively solicit, leverage, and share design research, competitive research, voice of customer data, and analytics to create full-featured and strategic products.
Maintain a prioritized roadmap of key areas to improve product experience organized by themes with clear justification and ability to articulate the rationale for priorities
Define key UX metrics and effectively communicate impact of the UX team to a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, including business, engineering, and product management teams.
Experience in starting or scaling a design system/component library in collaboration with engineering teams to drive improved efficiency, velocity, & consistency.
Be a strong advocate for rapid prototyping, getting customer feedback early, and iterating the experience based on customer analytics
Inspire, motivate, and mentor a team of highly talented, self-motivated designers. Experience with growing the UX team to align with long term product & business strategy. Create and develop a department vision and philosophy.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience with direct leadership of User Experience/Product Design teams
- Deep knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative UX research methodologies and techniques
- Portfolio of UX design / research work demonstrating ability to work across the product development process
- Experience leading UX for complex enterprise applications
- Experience leading UX for consumer facing products
- Able to present and defend ideas while driving team excellence
- Think and act strategically, proactively, and remain resourceful and inventive with a user-centric, research-driven approach for design and discovery
- Ability to sketch and visualize ideas and user scenarios
- Mastery in the documentation of: scenarios, wireframes, visual design, low and high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
