Engineering Department Overview

Our Engineering department consist of the following teams:

• Product Management
• UX/UI
• Engineering pods
• QA
• Customer Experience

These teams work together to deliver features to production on a daily basis. 

A general overview of how our teams function is as follows:

The engineers are broken down into pods managed by a Product Manager and a technical lead. Each pod has a variety of developers with different skill sets depending on the vertical of the product. The Product Manager plans out features and works with UX to conceptualize new and existing features. When the feature is planned out and the mocks are finalized, the developers work on building the feature. Once they have completed their work, everything goes through QA to ensure nothing is broken or missing when the feature is released to production. Customer experience works to support tickets that come in for bugs and or feature requests and conveys this to the Product Management team. We hold a variety of meetings during this process to ensure stakeholders are being heard and we are delivering the best possible products possible. 

As a member of the design team, you will be involved in this process from start to finish. Our work environment is extremely collaborative so it is important that you are able to communicate efficiently to a variety of different team members all with different knowledge levels of the products we produce.

Role Background:

Social Media and Content Marketing are relatively young fields and you will be helping architect new, previously unexplored concepts. Our primary platform - the IZEA Exchange - is an ever-evolving, multifaceted, content powerhouse with thousands of users accessing it every day. From content Creators, to Marketers, to our own internal team, each user interacts with the platform differently. You’ll be charged with making sure their experience is logical, easy, and enjoyable.

You will openly collaborate with IZEA team members from the management, product, and engineering teams to continually innovate and improve the Exchange. You’ll be creating various deliverables such as requirements, personas, site maps, user flows, wireframes, and competitive analysis documents.

IZEA is looking for a Product Design (Mid-Senior Level) to join our Software Engineering team. This role will report to the Director of Product Management.

Please provide a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications.

Candidate Location

IZEA is headquartered in Orlando, Florida though the company is currently 100% remote due to COVID-19. Ideal candidates would be located in the Orlando area, or a short plane flight away. Candidates must be very comfortable with a remote workforce, as all engineering personnel are currently 100% remote and living in different cities.

As a Product Designer, your primary responsibilities will be:

• Crafting the UX/UI for a variety of our features within the IZEAx platform. You should be able to manage multiple projects at once and return deliverables in a timely manner.
• Working with Product Management and other members of the design team to research, plan, wireframe, conceptualize, and answer any questions regarding the UX/UI.
• Converting your conceptualized mocks into functioning prototypes in Invision.

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a Product Designer or similar role
• Portfolio of professional works as well as personal projects
• Proficiency in Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, and other prototyping software.
• Vast knowledge of UX/UI trends in web and the ability to put your own twist on them in your designs 
• Knowledge of frontend development and how to design for it
• Understanding of responsive web design and mobile first design
• Experience managing the UX/UI of a web product
• Enjoy designing to solve a problem
• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple incoming requests
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team (which could change daily) and independently
• A go-getter attitude and ability to learn/understand how our products work so you can answer questions from team members and stakeholders on how things function or why they were designed a certain way
• An innovative approach to design solutions that are clean, simple, understandable and delightful to our customers.
