Senior User Experience Designer (Hybrid - mix of remote and onsite)

A Sr. UX Designer at Viagio will:  

Consult with clients to understand their vision and goals and communicate design specifications to clients, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.? This is an execution-heavy role with a focus on the following responsibilities.   

Strategy 

• Define, scope and conduct user research (user interviews, desk research etc.) 
• Synthesize user research insights and deliver user research findings via documentation and/or workshops 

Discovery 

• Facilitate design sessions for new custom applications 
• Rapidly build low fidelity interfaces and prototypes  
• Conduct user testing/feedback sessions on concepts and prototypes and quickly iterate  
• Build high fidelity conceptual and functional prototypes with an eye toward feasibility 

Build 

• Implement user interface and accessibility best practices to build production ready high-fidelity designs 
• Design user interfaces and experiences that are feasible to build, in collaboration with product and engineering 
• Experience defining and governing design systems and component libraries, at all stages of maturity 
• Steward the design of an application through development and launch including design reviews and design quality checks 
• Present and communicate design decisions to clients and development teams 
• Manage large-scale, complex design projects across multiple development teams 

Team Operations 

• Be a champion for user experience both internally and with clients 
• Enthusiasm and comfortability interacting with clients  
• Collaborate effectively with product management and engineering teams

Passion for quality UX design, principles & tools: 

• Solid understanding of user research, user empathy & product validation 
• Strong understanding of interaction design principles  
• Experience wireframing and prototyping 
• Proficiency in modern product design software (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud etc.) 
• Experience in Agile delivery process 
• Ability to document business and/or functional requirements and facilitate review meetings 

Nice to have: 

• Experience with data visualization 
• UX writing 
• Analytics (Firebase, Google analytics, Fullstory, etc.) 
• Basic coding knowledge to facilitate developer collaboration 

Enthusiasm for designing the right solution, fast: 

• Skilled at working highly autonomously but know when to pull in others and collaborate 
• Ability to quickly accumulate knowledge across multiple solution areas 
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment where rapid iteration is essential 
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple development projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet adapting deadlines 

Care for delivering a fantastic client experience: 

• Previous consulting or client-facing experience highly preferred 
• Proven ability to lead meetings related to solution design 
• Ability to field questions from engineers or clients 
• Comfortability providing and receiving feedback 
• Ability to deal with ambiguity 

Education:  

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design, Graphic/Visual Design or a Design-related field, or equivalent work experience
