Job Title: UX Designer

Reporting to: Product Lead

Location: Remote with some travel to London Office

Our ambition:

FuturU is a new moonshot start-up spun out of Newcross Healthcare Solutions.

The healthcare industry is facing a crisis: there simply aren’t enough skilled professionals to meet the growing demand. At FuturU, we believe that by making healthcare education free and accessible to all, we can help solve this problem and raise the standard of care everywhere.

That’s why we aim to be the world's leading learning platform for healthcare workers and a pioneer in learning technology. We’re creating a learning platform that’s modern, joined up, efficient, reliable and most of all, effective. One that’s accessible to everyone and provides exceptional learning experiences and support.

Our goals

To be the healthcare sector’s learning partner for life, creating the best trained workforce by offering high quality immersive and interactive training via our mobile app and website. Learning and development that’s not only modern, rigorous, and comprehensive – but free at the point of access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user research to identify user needs, challenges, and areas for improvement in our learning platform.

  • Analyse research findings and use them to shape design choices and product strategy.

  • Team up with Product to help define user requirements, prioritise them, and craft user stories.

  • Design, test, and refine user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that bring your design ideas to life.

  • Create great designs that focus on accessibility, while staying true to our brand guidelines.

  • Build and maintain a design system that keeps our designs consistent and efficient, complete with a component library, style guide, and design patterns.

  • Collaborate with engineering and QA to ensure your designs are implemented accurately and offer guidance on design best practices.

  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to keep making our platform even better.

  • Stay in the loop with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design and healthcare education.

What we need from you:

  • UX research experience: Get hands-on with user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and other research methods to learn more about users and guide our design choices.

  • User-centred design approach: Tap into users' needs, desires, and behaviours to create intuitive and captivating product experiences that they'll love.

  • Design system savvy: Experience in building and taking care of a design system, complete with component libraries, style guides, and design patterns.

  • Data analysis chops: Flex your skills in analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data to drive design decisions and business strategies.

  • Interaction design: Craft user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that communicate your design ideas and let you test your assumptions.

  • Visual design: Whip up great and consistent UI designs that follow our brand guidelines and design systems.

  • Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with different teams, including product managers, engineers and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in design tools: Expertise in using design tools, ideally Figma. Creative Cloud is a bonus but not required

Our values and behaviours

In it together - we share knowledge and resources, recognising we are stronger together than our component parts. We take personal responsibility for our work and trust our teammates to do the same.

Empathetic - We assume good intent and treat each other, our customers, and our partners with respect, dignity, and compassion. Our learners are inspiring people trying to do great things, our job is to make that easier for them.

Innovative - we're flexible and agile, respectfully challenging the status quo and offering new perspectives. We are drivers of positive change and look to spend our time doing things that are really hard, that only we can do.

Seeking the Exceptional - we're excited by challenges, living the 'moonshot' mindset to have our work make the biggest impact. We’re bold and unapologetic in our vision for the future.

Always learning - Great team members look to improve and grow. We actively solicit feedback and value the journey of discovery, while being open to new perspectives.
