Description

inquirED is a growing, mission-driven startup founded by educators to empower all teachers to inspire inquiry. inquirED’s curriculum activates students’ natural curiosities and incorporates the lived and historical experiences of each student. As Product Designer, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring inquirED’s technology supports users in navigating and implementing that curriculum. You'll also consider how our internal tools might be improved to develop an increasingly functional and intuitive interface for designing and publishing that curriculum.

We’re looking for a Product Designer who will immediately get to work understanding the existing teacher-facing, student-facing, and internal interfaces. This person will work closely with the Head of Product to prioritize product requirements while engaging in a variety of design and coordination tasks. Tasks will include:

  • Designing user flows
  • Explaining product functions to internal stakeholders and developers
  • Advocating for the user while balancing the nuances of product complexity
  • Developing and iterating mockups of new features
  • Seeking feedback cross-divisionally on new and existing product changes, recommending modifications and innovations when needed
  • Reviewing features in a staging environment to provide feedback and approve releases
  • Coordinating time-sensitive product demos with other departments and team members
  • Triangulating feedback from both internal and user perspectives to inform design decisions and priorities

The ideal candidate is scrappy, highly organized, and creative. We’re looking for someone who knows when to “play by the rules” of best practice and when to break them in service of an innovative product experience.
