We're seeking a motivated and energetic User Experience Designer to join our team. You will be involved in every aspect of the product development process. You’ll work with a cross-functional, highly capable team of designers, product managers and engineers, inventing and iterating on end-to-end workflows and product experiences. You will utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will be contributing to designing mobile app experiences for event attendees as well as web-based event administration tools for event organizers.

This is a full-time position and can be based anywhere in Canada (the team is based in Vancouver, BC working remotely). Please note that we can only consider candidates who reside in Canada with valid working status.

What You'll Do

    • Create UX and UI design deliverables for our mobile event products (including concept sketches, user flows, prototypes, wireframes and design specs), and designs that elevate the event experience and help us successfully meet the needs of our customers and event attendees
    • Partner closely with developers to translate UX solutions into technical specifications
    • Explain user research results to internal and external stakeholders
    • Develop personas and usage scenarios
    • Conduct usability testing
    • Create wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps and screen flows
    • Create product prototypes
    • Analyze user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
    • Assist with content development
    • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
    • Facilitate the client’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products
    • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
    • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
    • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.

What You Bring

    • A portfolio showing a selection of previous projects in mobile (iOS & Android) and desktop platforms.
    • BS/BA in Interactive Design, HCI or related degree preferred
    • Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred 
    • Experience with mobile-specific UX, and best practices in user-centered design
    • Strong UX/UI visual design prototyping, with expert proficiency in industry-standard software (Figma & Adobe CC)
    • Have some experience building design systems for mobile platforms (iOS & Android) or have worked with/contributed to existing systems in the past. 
    • Experience with usability practices (persona creation, research, A/B testing, observational studies)
    • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively explain your work to project stakeholders
    • Desire to learn and continuously improve, bringing a can-do attitude towards working in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces
    • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
