At Marmalade Game Studio, we are thrilled to invite an experienced and talented individual to become our Lead UX/UI Game Artist. As the studio behind successful hits like Monopoly, Cluedo, Game of Life, The Game of Life 2, MouseTrap, and Jumanji: The Curse Returns, we pride ourselves on creating exceptional gaming experiences for players worldwide.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the visual quality of our games and delivering outstanding experiences to our players. We are seeking someone with excellent technical skills and a passion for leading and collaborating with our team of passionate and creative professionals. Flexibility, adaptability, and dedication to quality are values we hold dear.

Based in the UK, you must be eligible to work here, and we are pleased to offer flexible remote working options. Our main studio is located in London, providing you with the choice of an office-based environment if you prefer.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior UI members and the artist team to create captivating interfaces that align with the project’s creative vision and technical requirements.
  • Effectively plan and communicate work, ensuring realistic goals and dependencies.
  • Deliver high-quality UI assets throughout the development process, from early whitebox prototypes to final implementation in the game engine.
  • Work closely with feature teams to integrate assets efficiently, adhering to budgets and platform constraints to ensure an exceptional player experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a UX/UI Artist in the games industry, with at least one successful game title shipped.
  • Showcase strong graphic design skills through a portfolio that matches Marmalade Games’ quality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to explore different styles while adhering to existing brand guidelines.
  • Proficiency in creating UX prototypes and wireframes.
  • Excellent understanding of typography, composition, colour theory, visual design, and interaction design.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, and Unity for implementing and animating UI assets.
  • Optional but valuable: Previous experience in managing small teams of UX/UI designers and a passion for board games.
