Senior UI/UX Designer

Nyx Studios

Nyx Studios is looking for an accomplished UI/UX designer to join us in making a trading card battler game set in an original dark science-fiction universe.


Your work will be at the core of our player experience, starting with help in compiling style sheets and design documents, as well as preparation of future content updates. You will help design the core features for the game: menus, icons, interfaces, and gameplay feedback systems, and actively participate in diverse creative endeavors we have in plans as we strive to keep our games new and exciting. 


We are a small team and need a talent that will adapt to many tasks. Together with the design of the game interfaces, we also require you to assist us in designing our product, along with its website platform and marketing materials.


You will be key in collaborating across disciplines to reach our high standard of polish. You will develop concepts and take them from UX flow to in-game UI and product design. You will work closely with and contribute to a talented art team to organize and iterate on pre-existing style choices, as well as have an active input in steering those choices in new directions. 


What you bring to the table: 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced small team like ours, so this role includes but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:


· Design the main landing page for our game, with great visuals and intuitive flow.

· Actively supply the marketing team with directions and assets to keep the consistency of HAVOC brand and style on-point.

· Create concepts, flows, layouts, mock-ups and prototypes for game features and product launches.

· Collaborate with artists, engineers, and designers to create, and implement a polished and fluid interface, leading to great user experience.

·  Design awesome game interfaces and assets that complement and develop the dark science-fiction style of our title, with a focus on great visuals and great usability.

· Work together with the team throughout the design process, gathering actionable feedback and iterating at the appropriate levels.

 

Requirements

· Ideal candidate has a minimum of 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including experience in the gaming industry, preferably in tactical games.

· Experience creating UI for multiple platforms – crucially PC and mobile.

·  Skills in creating and maintaining UX wireframes and flows with Figma.

· Impeccable talent for visual designs using Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (eg. Photoshop, Illustrator).

· Experience with and understanding of front-end implementation (e.g., XAML, HTML5, C#).

· Able to communicate the UI/UX process effectively.

· Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback.

· Able to work creatively in a demanding team environment while helping others.

· Knowledge and experience in the genre of online tactical games.

 

Extra Points

· Proficient in After Effects, Adobe Animate, or other motion graphic tools.

· Experience working with 3D assets.

· Passion for science fiction and games in general.

· Experience in print design and knowledge of printing processes.

Salary

The standard base pay range for this role is $USD 4000-6000 monthly. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to a base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
