As a Senior Product Designer at Going, you'll join a small, cross-functional team dedicated to helping people travel and experience the world. In this role, you'll harness your creativity, technical prowess, and strategic insight to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment. In the short term, you will:

  • Generate creative and innovative design concepts that address user requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints.

  • Keep up a fast-moving pace of experimentation and decision-making.

  • Have a large amount of ownership and autonomy in designing features and solutions that enable a world-class end-to-end experience for users.

  • As a senior member of our Product Design team, your role involves actively shaping our design process, culture, and principles while consistently elevating the standard of design quality within the organization.

In the long term, you will:

  • Build and test prototypes to quickly validate your understanding of an opportunity & potential solutions.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to deliver high-quality products, features, and experiences to our members.

  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from effective problem framing through ideation, co-creation, advanced prototyping, user validation, and ending with high-fidelity designs with achieved impact on business.

  • Validate your solutions with users using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Own portions of the user journey across all Going touch points, including web, mobile, email, social, etc., and ensure they function well on their own and as a whole.

  • Serve as an advocate for design best practices across the team and company.

What you know

Required:

  • Experience in the end-to-end design process (UX + Product) to design impactful solutions to challenging problems.

  • Excel in navigating ambiguity and complexity within problem spaces and processes, understanding opportunities, and have the ability to find a path forward alongside your cross-functional team.

  • Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility.

  • Strong facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, gather and consolidate feedback, and lead design discussions focusing on achieving outcomes.

  • Ability to quickly generate multiple concepts and prototypes. You know when to focus on pixel-perfect attention to detail and when to create low-fi sketches and prototypes.

  • Your background includes enhancing processes and methodologies to boost product value, elevate team velocity, and expedite the adoption of new capabilities.

  • You’re legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US hours.

Preferred:

  • Passion for story-telling, the ability to bring design solutions to life with compelling narrative

  • You have experience in startup environments (20-100 employees). *Bonus for subscription, SaaS, or e-commerce.

  • You have experience in Design Systems

Who you’ll work with

  • You’ll report to Rachel Smith

  • You’ll be on the Product Design team with Tika Appaiah & Debbie Diaz.

  • You’ll work alongside Product, Engineering, Product Operations & Marketing.

What tools we use:

  • Figma is our primary design and prototyping tool

  • Notion for documentation, collaboration, and project management

  • Google Analytics and Preset for analytics

  • Fullstory for anonymized session recordings

  • Miro & Figjam for brainstorming cross-functionally

  • User Interviews, Lookback.io, Typeform & Momentive (SurveyMonkey), usertesting.com for User Research
