About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Designer who specializes in creating exceptional online discovery and check-out experiences. This role is a blend of UX design and e-commerce strategies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with product and engineering teams, fellow designers, and marketing specialists to create a seamless and effective e-commerce environment.
We strongly prefer candidates to be based in the Greater Montreal Area. As part of the role, you will travel to some of our other major markets to spend time with our field teams (<10%).
Your key responsibilities and challenges will include:
- Design Development: Craft visually striking and functional designs for our e-commerce platforms, focusing on layout, graphics, and user interfaces to enhance the shopping experience.
- User Experience (UX): Elevate user experience with intuitive navigation and transaction elements. Must be adept in applying A/B testing to refine UX and understand the impact on conversion rates and overall e-commerce flow.
- Branding Consistency: Ensure the website’s design is in harmony with our brand identity and marketing objectives.
- Responsive and Adaptive Design: Develop adaptable designs for a variety of devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) ensuring a consistent user experience.
- Performance Optimization: Work in tandem with developers to optimize site design for performance and loading efficiency.
- User-Centric Testing: Implement user testing to gather feedback for continuous improvement in design and UX.
- Content Integration: Collaborate with the content team for the integration and regular update of product information and visuals.
- Market and E-Commerce Trends: Keep abreast of the latest design trends and e-commerce technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Engage with marketing, sales, and IT teams for a unified and effective e-commerce strategy.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of related experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio in e-commerce projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or related fields.
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento).
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Creative problem-solving and analytical thinking, particularly in optimizing e-commerce user flows and conversion rates.
