Our team at Stoic, a 4-time BAFTA-nominated independent video game studio, is seeking a User Interface (UI) Artist for the development of Towerborne.  We are in search of a passionate and collaborative UI Artist who is able to create amazing user interface designs across our game. 

You will be part of the UI/UX team working closely with the UX Lead and UI developers. You will collaborate with the Art and Game Directors to define the UI Style Guide and will work with the UI/UX team to ensure the art can be implemented within our technical limitations. You will also work with Game and System designers in collaboration on gameplay UI features.

What you will do

    • Establish a UI Style Guide
    • Design and maintain consistent UI
    • Implement and optimize user-friendly graphics, icons, and buttons to help players understand complex features
    • Collaborate with Game and System Designers to define, develop, and deliver UI elements for gameplay features
    • Provide UI assets for developers to implement
    • Identify UI problems and provide solutions

Qualifications

    • 4+ years experience designing complex UI systems on professional games shipped on console and PC
    • A portfolio demonstrating clean, modern UI designs 
    • Strong graphic design skills
    • Professional proficiency with UI design software (Illustrator and Photoshop)
    • Ability to work autonomously while understanding requirements and limitations of stakeholders and pipelines
    • Experience presenting and defending your ideas to stakeholders
    • Persuasive communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience designing UI on a live game
    • Experience with UX design best practices and processes
    • Experience with Figma or other similar UX design software
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

    • A link to your portfolio must be included with your application

United States Pay Range
$110,000 - $130,000 USD

This range is determined by several factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. It is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

The final job level and compensation will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
