***This is a contract position with the intent to hire as a full-time employee in 30-90 days after start date.

 

A day in the life:

  • You are responsible for staying up-to-date on modern trends, techniques, and strategies in web/UI design to deliver the best possible product to our clients. You will be responsible for discovering the target audience, creating a user journey, and translating it from sitemaps to wireframes, mockups, and more. Developers ensure that your UI vision comes to life while working to optimize collaboration between UI and Dev.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for staying up-to-date on modern trends, techniques, and strategies in web/UI design to deliver the best possible product to our clients.
  • Seek resources on your own to stay up-to-date.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reach and bring them to a PM.
  • Identify process improvements learned from current weaknesses and is willing to lead the creation of new processes and their implementation in the team.
  • Assume an active role in weekly scrums.
  • 90% attendance at daily meetings.
  • Create an action plan (out of office) for anything that requires more than (2) days.
  • If a deadline falls on a day when you are out of the office, the task must be completed before leaving or handed over to another team member to complete.
  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating a variety of UI design projects and methodologies.
  • At any given time, a designer must have a total of more than 4 active accounts. Projects: 6+

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional graphic and UI design experience.
  • Ability to understand instructions, receive and write in advanced English.
  • Experience in website design specifically and a wide portfolio of previous projects.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Adobe Suites, Figma, etc.
  • Comfortable working with the following aspects related to the development of our department: Content implementation and asset acquisition for WordPress and Shopify. CMS and basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and PHP.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Responsible for on-time delivery of all milestones assigned by the project manager.
  • Proactively communicate potential risks of not meeting delivery milestones and obstacles that jeopardize a deadline in no less than 48 hours.
  • Lead internal review meetings with the project team before client deliverables to present work for a round of internal feedback.
  • Take into consideration all feedback and, if there is any disagreement on them, communicate with the person who provided the feedback about why they were not implemented.
  • Own all client presentations of all work (wireframes and designs).
  • Come to meetings prepared to know how they will guide the client through the work to ensure that everything intended to be covered is covered.
  • Responsible for all deliverables assigned according to the scope of work and proactive communication of potentially out-of-scope items that are better for overall business objectives for clients.
  • Keep Asana updated with task completion and status.

Most Important Things (MITs)

  • Understand the client and be able to translate their business goals into a solid and well-designed UI.
  • Deliver on time, taking into account all elements encountered during discovery, for each milestone.
  • Effectively communicate the rationale behind design decisions while also staying ahead of trends.
