We are seeking a talented and experienced Contract-to-Hire Digital Product Designer with strong UX/UI expertise to join our client's dynamic, cross-functional product team.
This role will work collaboratively within our client’s existing Agile product team to enhance both authenticated and non-authenticated digital experiences during the DesignOps and DevOps lifecycle. The Designer will play a key role in designing features and experiences from a predefined backlog of epics and features, ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.
Primary responsibilities include conducting user research and analysis, leading UX/UI design and prototyping efforts, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving usability testing and quality assurance.
As an embedded member of the client’s team, the Designer will leverage their UX design expertise to drive success.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points for both authenticated and non-authenticated user journeys
- Analyze user data and feedback to inform design decisions and identify areas for improvement
- Create user personas, journey maps, and scenarios based on research insights
- Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for digital products that align with aligned product features, interactions and user stories, as well as brand and UX standards, patterns, and components
- Develop wireframes, mockups, interaction flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate and specify design concepts
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure a cohesive and consistent visual and interactive experience aligned to design system patterns and components
- Contribute to and evolve the design system as necessary to deliver design specifications
- Work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and other stakeholders to continuously refine requirements and deliver features as fully defined, design-ready specifications
- Actively participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines
- Offer UX guidance and expertise throughout the development process to meet defined acceptance criteria
- Support and engage in client-led usability testing sessions to validate design concepts and uncover potential issues
- Analyze usability test results and provide recommendations for design improvements
- Contribute to QA reviews and testing to ensure the final product delivers an exceptional user experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in UX and UI design, preferably within a digital product development environment
- A strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI design projects, user research, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing results
- Proficiency in design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Sketch, Miro, and Mural
- Solid understanding of design thinking and lean UX principles
- Significant experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with responsive design and accessibility best practices
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate effectively
- An analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects at once
- Experience with authenticated and non-authenticated user experience design
- Familiarity with Financial Services products, experiences, and industry standards
- Knowledge of analytics tools and measurement strategies
- Understanding of front-end technologies and relevant platforms
- Experience designing for both mobile applications and web platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred
