About the Role:

At WitnessAI, we're at the intersection of innovation and security in AI. As the Director of Product Design, you’ll combine leadership with hands-on design work, driving the vision for our products while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You’ll lead by example, balancing high-level strategy with execution, crafting exceptional designs that solve real-world problems and delight our users.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership:

• Define and champion a design vision and strategy that aligns with business goals and user needs.

• Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization.

• Set the standard for design excellence by contributing hands-on to key projects.

Hands-On Design Work:

• Actively design and deliver key components of the product, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.

Team Leadership and Mentorship:

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.

• Review team deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with the product vision.

• Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize design initiatives.

• Translate complex technical and business requirements into simple, intuitive user experiences.

• Communicate design decisions and their impact to leadership and key stakeholders.

Process and Tools:

• Establish efficient design processes and workflows to support a fast-paced development environment.

• Stay up-to-date with design tools, trends, and methodologies, implementing improvements where appropriate.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company’s design system.

Metrics and Iteration:

• Define and track success metrics for design impact, incorporating feedback and data into iterative improvements.

• Continuously optimize designs based on user insights and business outcomes.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in product design, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

• Proven success in designing and delivering digital products, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.

• Hands-on experience with the end-to-end design process, from research to final implementation.

Skills:

• Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.

• Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions and a keen eye for detail.

• Deep understanding of UX/UI principles, interaction design, and visual design best practices.

• Proficiency in user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design.

• Knowledge of front-end development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Salary Range:

$180,000-$230,000
