Farfetch is hiring Junior Product Designer
THE ROLE (Porto or Lisbon based)
You will report to the design manager of the area, and this role is for a designer with some knowledge of working within a multidisciplinary team (design, engineering, and product management). As a Junior Product Designer, you must have a good knowledge of design methods and practices to help your team understand how to meet our user needs. You will have technical understanding of web/app UI and interaction design to ensure that the experience our users have when using our products is appropriate, effective, and coherent.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- You’ll collaborate with your team (product managers, engineers, and others) to define the problem space and desired customer outcomes.
- You will support the execution and development of strategy in your area based on the insights and goals created by the teams.
- Support the planning and execution of workshops to help align intent and understanding of business and customer goals, distilling and sharing this with other teams.
- Help define the hierarchy of user needs for the design project. Ensure that when customers interact with your product, the experience is coherent, effective, and consistent with our brand.
- General understanding of your area’s technology and use these to ensure product decisions are made within those constraints.
- Help the team understand solutions by working them through clear handoffs.
- Use your knowledge and expertise of interaction design in detailed interactions at task and flow level.
- Contribute to the fact that the work from the team is consistent with the whole customer experience, and is designed with the customers’ high-level goals and needs in mind.
- Partnership with engineering teams and ensure any design specifications are clear and well-understood by your team.
- Constantly work with your team to improve and finesse the product through release and beyond
- Working with engineering and product managers to bring your understanding of how customers interact and behave with products to ensure that they share your confidence in a solution.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have experience working within product teams.
- You can demonstrate the process and outcome of the evidence-based approach that you’ve employed on previous projects
- You have experience designing products for web or native platforms.
- You have excellent collaboration skills, and you’re able to constructively influence action within teams.
- You have a working knowledge of working with full-stack design systems.
- You have experience working within a platform business, Ecommerce or online retail.
- You will have excellent English listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- You understand the importance of using different prototyping methods and when to use them as tools to reduce risk.
- Having experience working on high traffic consumer products is a plus.
