Verto is hiring Product Designer

At Verto, we’re passionate about helping businesses in Emerging Markets reach the world. What first started life as an FX solution for trading Nigerian Naira has now become a market-leading platform, changing the way thousands of businesses transfer money in and out of Emerging Markets.

We believe that where you do business shouldn’t determine how successful you are or your ability to scale. Millions of companies a day have to juggle long settlement periods, high transaction fees, and issues accessing liquidity in order to trade with African businesses. We’re on a mission to change this by creating equal access to easy payment and liquidity solutions that are already a given in developed markets.

We’re not alone in realising the opportunity and need to solve for Emerging Markets. We’re backed by world-class investors including Y-Combinator, Quona, and MEVP, power payments for some of the most disruptive start-ups in the world, and have a list of accolades from leading publications, including being voted ‘Fintech Start-Up of the Year’ at Fintech Awards London 2022.

Each year, we process billions of dollars in payments and provide companies with solutions that help them save money, automate processes, and grow, but we’re only just getting started.

Product Designer

We’re seeking a driven and results-oriented Product Designer who is excited to tackle the challenge of improving our user experience and enhancing the overall visual design of our platform. In this role, you will be expected to achieve key milestones such as:

  • Designing and delivering intuitive and visually appealing workflows for complex financial processes within the first six months.

  • Conducting user research and usability testing to identify pain points and implement measurable UX improvements within the first 90 days.

  • Establishing and maintaining a scalable design system that enhances design consistency across all Verto products.

You will play a pivotal role in our product and design team, leveraging your expertise in B2B fintech product design to drive a seamless and user-friendly experience for our customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process from research and ideation to prototyping and final UI delivery.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and customer-facing teams to refine existing features and design new functionalities.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and ensure an optimal user experience.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs in Figma, ensuring usability and aesthetic quality.

  • Establish and maintain a design system to drive consistency and scalability across our products.

  • Work closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of design components.

  • Continuously iterate and refine designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Enhancing the UX of complex financial workflows to improve efficiency and reduce friction for users.

  • Driving visual and functional improvements across the Verto platform.

  • Developing a scalable and consistent design system that can be used across multiple products.

  • Running usability tests and gathering qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.

  • Advocating for user-centered design principles across the organisation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing B2B product design (preferably within fintech).

  • Deep understanding of user experience principles and methodologies.

  • Proficiency with Figma, including experience building and maintaining design systems.

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to advocate for user-centered design.

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with compliance-heavy industries (e.g., fintech) is a plus.

We’re looking for a designer who is not only creative but also analytical—someone who can back up their design decisions with data and research while maintaining a keen eye for aesthetics. If you’re passionate about shaping the future of fintech through design, we want to hear from you!

Please let Verto know you discovered this position on UIUXjobsboard so we can keep providing you with quality design jobs.
