The Group Director, Experience loves to inspire teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and advocate for the customer voice grounded in research and data. This individual will be responsible for leading the consolidation of a diverse portfolio of experiences into a single, cohesive mobile app, ensuring that the team carries the experience strategy through from conception to execution. This person sits at the intersection of product strategy, experience design, business, and technology, which requires strategic vision, leadership, and hands-on execution. This role manages UX designers and collaborates with design, engineering, product, internal, and external leadership, as well as business teams, to bring the creative vision to life.

Responsibilities

    • Direct, collaborate, and inspire cross-functionally to ensure user needs and business goals are defined in strategy and carried through execution.
    • Drive design thinking processes and overall CX and UX strategy through assigned client engagements and cross-functional partnerships.
    • Oversee projects to ensure that strategy is carried through to execution excellence, including interaction design and usability best practices and conventions.
    • Apply data and user insights to inform and shape experiences as well as create artifacts that support initiatives and facilitate client and/or internal communication.
    • Partner with clients to understand their business goals, challenges, and needs, and align agency offerings and services to meet those needs. Maintain strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities for new business growth.
    • Develop communications and presentations that demonstrate cohesive storytelling and concise key points.
    • Identify opportunities for account growth and contribute to business development efforts.
    • Mentor and develop Experience team talent, providing feedback, leadership, and clarity on roles and growth paths.
    • Oversee resourcing, timelines, and deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.

Requirements

    • 10+ years of experience in digital product or experience design, with at least 3 years leading within enterprise team environments.
    • Qualified candidates must have prior mobile app experience (mobile app experience within the past 5 years is preferred)
    • Deep understanding of mobile design and development processes, including operating in design and development sprints.
    • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, with experience managing C-suite or senior stakeholder relationships.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience using research and data to drive design decisions.
    • Previous experience in a digital agency consulting with enterprise teams.
    • Experience with a team creating/managing a design system using tools such as Zero Height, Supernova, and Storybook.
    • Fluent in design tools (e.g. Figma, Miro, Adobe XD) and PowerPoint/Slides to produce artifacts and presentations.
    • Samples of work that demonstrate the ability to guide teams, craft and communicate strategy, craft UX, and facilitate workshops, including mobile app experience.
$160,000 - $180,000 a year
The following salary band is scoped for the position. Final comp will be within this range and based on total related experience + geography.
