🎯 About This Role

We’re looking for a UX Researcher to play a pivotal role in the “Shaping” phase of our product development process, using the Shape Up methodology. Your mission: to support prioritizing and transform framed problems into well-shaped solutions through insightful user research and collaborative exploration.

You’ll be instrumental in helping us solve the right problems at the right time—bringing clarity, user empathy, and rigorous analysis to shape the future of our product in alignment with our growth strategy.

🥇 You Will Achieve This By

  • Identifying, planning, and executing generative and evaluative research to define problem spaces and inform solution design, ensuring that we’re solving the right problems for our customers.

  • Collaborating closely with our leadership, our Product Strategist, Designers, and Engineers to translate framed problems into actionable, well-shaped product bets.

  • Synthesizing complex data into clear, compelling insights that influence strategic decisions.

  • Selecting and applying the most appropriate research approach, balancing speed and rigor, to support the team’s level of certainty and decision-making needs.

  • Helping the team ground product and design decisions in user data through clear communication, insight-driven storytelling, and collaborative workshops.

🧪 What You Need on Day 1 to Be Successful

  • You bring strong business acumen and align research efforts with product and company strategy.

  • You excel in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, selecting the right tool for the right moment.

  • You have a strong track record in data analysis, insight synthesis, and crafting actionable recommendations.

  • You demonstrate deep user curiosity, thrive in ambiguity, and are a natural problem-solver.

  • You communicate and influence with impact—tailoring your message to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

🌱 It Would Be Great If

  • You’ve worked in highly autonomous environments where speed and initiative are key.

  • You’re familiar with Shape Up (methodology)

  • You have a keen design sensibility and love partnering closely with Product Designers.

🏆 What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

  • Within 30 days, you've built strong relationships with your team and internal stakeholders, and have a clear understanding of Vasco’s product, roadmap, and user base.

  • By day 60, you've shipped your first “pitch” (clearly defining the problem and informing potential directions) and contributed meaningfully to team rituals and planning.

  • By day 90, you’re driving initiatives independently, giving input into strategy, and confidently using our decision-making frameworks (like ADRs or PDRs).
