We are seeking a Senior Experience/UX Strategist for a full-time remote position (U.S.-based). This person will join a small, senior strategy team and work across a range of projects for mission-driven organizations.

You'll be embedded in cross-functional project teams from day one, partnering closely with designers, engineers, account managers, brand strategists, and project managers to turn ambiguity into clear direction. The work spans UX, content strategy, and information architecture, and the best candidates will move fluidly between all three. Primary Responsibilities

Strategy

Define a clear strategic direction for projects and set them up for success by:

  • Planning and leading discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews to align website platform project goals and surface audience needs

  • Conducting content, analytics, and competitive/comparative analyses to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities

  • Synthesizing research, inputs, and constraints into a clear direction, delivered through a strategy brief

  • Partnering with account managers to understand client goals and translate them into actionable project direction

  • Creating content strategies that define the substance, structure, and governance

  • Providing recommendations for measurement, including digital metrics and KPIs, and partnering with engineering to align analytics and tracking with strategic goals

  • Leading discussions about content strategy objectives, messaging best practices, and strategic tradeoffs

  • Working in partnership with project management, design, and engineering to ensure digital deliverables support user-facing needs and project goals

User Experience
  • Design clear information architectures by creating sitemaps informed by best practices, brand and content strategy, and audience needs

  • Create low-fidelity wireframes, page narratives, and user journeys that communicate the "why" behind the structure and support brand and audience objectives

  • Define content types and taxonomies that support CMS build and long-term content governance

  • Collaborate with designers to ensure UI and visual design are aligned with the strategic vision

  • Inform testing approach for tree testing, concept testing, and usability testing, and collaborate on synthesis of results and deliver analysis through briefs or reports

Content Planning & Execution
  • Partner with project management to set clients up for success during content development and migration by defining content requirements, template needs, and content recommendations

  • Develop roadmaps within the context of a project to help prioritize what gets built and when

  • Train clients on best practices for content production and writing for the web

  • Assist with technical integration of content where needed

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sales and business development by providing strategy estimates for projects, performing preliminary research, contributing strategic language, and joining or occasionally leading pitches

  • Seek opportunities to innovate and streamline strategy, content, and production processes, including collaboration with third-party strategists, researchers, and copywriters

  • Support agency marketing efforts by contributing to case studies and other content

  • Champion user-centered design culture, values, and principles across the wider Wide Eye team

Experience / Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in UX strategy, content strategy, or a combined digital strategy role, in an agency or in-house environment

  • Strong strategic thinker across content strategy, information architecture, UX, and digital storytelling

  • Experience leading discovery, facilitating workshops, and presenting strategic direction to senior stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex inputs (research, analytics, stakeholder interviews, workshops) into clear, actionable recommendations

  • Strong understanding of taxonomy, metadata, and content modeling

  • Understanding of CMS processes and best practices

  • Ability to create content development and migration plans that account for resources, timelines, and risk

  • Comfort with digital analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Google Tag Manager)

  • Proficiency in Figma and tools like Octopus for sitemapping and wireframing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to flex tone for different audiences

  • Comfort with testing methodology

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative, resourceful, and genuinely curious

Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations, advocacy, and mission-driven work

  • Interest in progressive politics and progressive causes

  • Knowledge of CRMs and advocacy tools (e.g., Salesforce, EveryAction, ActBlue)

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • Experience with WordPress theming

  • Experience training content authors on CMS usage

  • Experience with Framer
