Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. As a Senior Product Designer at Virta, you will design technology that enables Virta to continuously and remotely deliver care at scale. This will involve working on product experiences in our patient app and clinician dashboard that motivate patients and help them develop sustainable practices for improving their metabolic health. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end product design from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Develop a vision for the user experience and define user experience across multiple touchpoints
  • Manage an iterative design approach to prioritize KPI-driven impact and learning
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners such as Product Management, Engineering, Clinical Operations, UX Research, and Analytics
  • Weave together feedback from cross-functional team, insights from quantitative and qualitative data, and intuition to inform design decision-making
  • Maintain consistency across Virta's product surfaces and service including messaging and brand consistency in the Virta treatment
  • Contribute to the design craft at Virta by critiquing work, engaging in pair design with other UX designers at the company and contributing to an evolving design system

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will:

  • Gain a strong understanding of our patients, care team, product and our evidence-based treatment
  • Map out a user journey for users in your product area 
  • Present your designs and thinking for your first project
  • Ship 2-5 small projects—these could range from small product improvements to operational practices
  • Help shape our product content style guide and audit existing UI content

Requirements:

  • You have at least 5-7 years experience as a UX Designer or similar design role shipping multiple products on mobile and web
  • You are familiar with technical limitations and can work constructively with engineers
  • You can adapt your designs based on the audience, platform, and other constraints
  • You can work independently and prioritize your work
  • You consider multiple solutions to a problem and push for creative, unusual solutions when there are no obvious answers 
  • You have fluency with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Illustrator to develop low-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
  • You are comfortable utilizing user research methods for your work
  • You pay attention to all the user experience details and can jump in to developing UX copy, assets, etc
  • You can communicate effectively and champion good design across the company
  • Preferred experience in healthcare/wellness sector or multi-sided market experience

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Security and privacy training will be provided.
