TTolken is hiringSenior Product Designer
The Role
Tolken is entering a critical growth phase and seeking a Senior Product Designer on a contract basis (initial term: 3 months, with potential for extension). In this hands-on, high-impact role, you will be responsible for independently shaping and delivering UI/UX foundations across our merchant/partner-facing experiences and internal dashboards as we build our full payments suite.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end design and delivery of merchant and partner-facing products and internal dashboards, focusing on fast, high-quality output.
Design complex, data-driven flows for onboarding, payments, reporting, and operational tooling in a fintech context.
Establish and deliver Tolken’s first design system, interaction patterns, and visual language to create consistency and scale.
Lead and execute user research and usability testing as needed to validate and refine solutions.
Partner closely with founders, product, and engineering to define key requirements and deliverables, shaping MVPs and high-impact features for a startup environment.
Drive a user-centric design process through lightweight, practical methods (e.g., crits, design reviews, rapid prototyping).
Project Deliverables
Launch initial versions of merchant/partner-facing workflows and core internal dashboards within the contract period.
Deliver a documented, reusable design system and component library.
Provide actionable user feedback insights, with recommendations implemented in shipped designs.
Clear handoff and documentation for engineering handover.
Requirements
Essential
5+ years of product design (UI/UX) experience, with a strong portfolio in B2B and/or fintech SaaS products.
Proven ability to independently deliver end-to-end product designs on a contract, freelance, or consulting basis.
Expertise in Figma (and similar design/prototyping tools); strong visual and interaction design skills.
Hands-on experience with internal tools, dashboards, and complex workflow design.
Strong user research, prototyping, and design documentation skills.
Comfortable setting priorities and work cadence for a short-term engagement, with minimal oversight.
Excellent collaborator and communicator, able to provide regular progress updates and operate asynchronously with a distributed startup team.
Who You Are
Action-and-output oriented: ready to ship polished UI/UX and build foundations quickly.
Pragmatic and autonomous: able to spot priorities and gaps, propose and execute solutions with minimal direction.
User- and outcome-focused: you care about usability, clarity, and real-world adoption.
