Role Description:

  • SET FBS Senior UX Description The Senior UX Designer within the SET UX team is responsible for leading the creation of effective, user-centered experiences that improve the usability, clarity, and performance of complex systems, platforms, and workflows at Farmers Insurance.
  • This role applies advanced UX principles and strategic thinking to guide research, shape design solutions, and influence product direction in alignment with user needs and business objectives.
  • Senior UX Designers operate independently within assigned workstreams, collaborating with product managers, engineering partners, and business stakeholders to define problems, clarify requirements, and deliver thoughtful solutions that reduce friction and enable business success.
  • While often working under the guidance of a Lead UX Designer on larger initiatives, Senior Designers are expected to lead research activities, generate insights, and drive design decisions across their areas of responsibility.
  • This role spans the full design lifecycle, including discovery, concept development, detailed design, validation, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Senior UX Designers are responsible for identifying and addressing edge cases, aligning design decisions with broader business strategies, and ensuring that solutions are scalable, feasible, and aligned with user needs.
  • They contribute to the evolution of design systems, collaborate on UX strategy, and help advance UX maturity within SET through mentoring and thought leadership.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading user research activities, including contextual interviews, usability testing, surveys, data analysis, and competitive evaluations.
  • Analyzing research findings to inform design direction, define user needs, and validate design decisions.
  • Developing complex design concepts and high-fidelity deliverables, including wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications.
  • Anticipating and addressing dependencies, risks, and edge cases across workstreams.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on project requirements, priorities, and solutions.
  • Supporting the evolution and maintenance of design systems to promote consistency and scalability.
  • Evaluating and refining designs through user testing, performance data, and iteration post-launch.
  • Contributing to UX strategy and process improvements across SET initiatives.
  • Mentoring less experienced designers and contributing to team development and best practices.
  • Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of UX design principles, interaction design, design systems, and user-centered research methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in complex, ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, as well as research and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with agile design and development methodologies.
  • Proven experience in B2B, enterprise software, or SaaS environments.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable design solutions.
