As the TV landscape continues to be disrupted, we are looking for a new Head of Product Design with a pedigree in user design thinking to spearhead our Product Design team and be responsible for creating game changing TV experiences for the 2020s. Its a genuine opportunity to transform how millions of UK homes watch television up and down the country.
Overview
As Head of Product Design, you will lead and inspire a team of Product Designers and a User Research Manager. You will own the Product Design process from vision to execution and ensure your team create industry leading experiences. You will evangelise user design thinking across the company and particularly those heavily involved product development process. You will work closely with Head of Product and Head of Visual Design to bring to life the product vision and ensure your teams are highly collaborative and effective to achieve our shared goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading, managing and coaching team of product designers and a user research manager
- Ensuring your team successfully collaborate and contribute as design leads in embedded agile teams working very closely with product managers, tech leads and developers
- Managing the end to end design process from user research, ideation, prototyping, designing, experimenting, launching and optimising
- Owning Information Architecture and Interaction Design patterns
- Owning end to end user research from lab based qual to survey based quant
- Running of user community and quarterly CSAT tracker (via agency)
- Managing stakeholders across customers, shareholders and internally
- Playing a pivotal role in cultivating a healthy design culture
- Defining and driving Product Design strategy that integrates with, and informs, the broader Product strategy
- Engaging regularly with Exec and Senior Management where you will effectively represent design, your team's objectives, learnings, progress and celebrate their achievements
Skills & Experience:
- Leadership in Product Design across digital consumer facing products ideally for TV entertainment experiences
- Relevant degree or qualification
- Experience in data rich platforms and used to scaled experimentation such as multivariate testing
- Strong pedigree in design thinking and latest product design/product development methodologies and ways of working
- Effective leadership of high performing teams with strong ability to coach and motivate
- Passionate and enthusiastic for design and a creative all-rounder with good eye for detail
- Excellent communication – written and verbal presentations at all levels as well as the ability to tell a story persuasively bringing audiences, colleagues and customers on the journey
- Data savvy, analytical and the ability to contribute to strategy
- Highly collaborative and effective team player particularly with peers in the Product and Design management team
