A Look Inside the Role...

The Senior Product Designer role is a great opportunity for someone looking to design solutions and experiences that will have extremely high customer visibility. We are a small, yet very efficient and effective team and are consistently growing. We are the direct connection between Wyze and its users and our goal is to bring as much value to them as possible. Our team works closely together across multiple subject areas (business, design, and development) but we do not believe in micromanagement so being autonomous is key. You will work on many projects involving the web, mobile, and potentially other screens involving different e-commerce projects and customer experiences. Over this next year, we will be pushing away from the normal “e-commerce” playbook, so it will be a great opportunity to lead projects that are unique and different. Our team is very driven, efficient, and collaborative, so we are looking for someone who is like-minded about our values and company culture. You already have these qualifications and enjoy what you do:

    • 8+ years of interaction/visual design experience
    • Take a user-centered approach to designing products; seek feedback and challenge assumptions
    • A steadfast desire for innovation, balanced with business and user interaction priorities
    • Ability to determine and work at the right level of fidelity for a given situation; should be comfortable communicating ideas visually from a whiteboard, a sketchpad, wireframes, and visual mockups
    • An effective communicator: never hides bad news, confronts roadblocks that pop up, and challenges ideas while keeping an open mind and seeking to learn new things
    • A great teammate
    • Bias toward action and doesn't let obstacles stop you from moving forward
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, seek clarity, and solve problems creatively
    • Always asks if something can be better, loves trying new things, and iterating toward a better solution
    • Proficiency in UX design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Framer, etc.
    • Experience in designing large scale customer-facing products and interfaces
    • Experience working with engineers to construct dynamic, interactive designs that are technically feasible
    • Experience designing for multiple devices, such as mobile, web, and screens
    • Experience facilitating or working with partners in UX Research, user testing, diary studies, surveys, etc.
    • Has led design teams before and enjoy fostering the growth of fellow designers
    • Transform customer insights into new features and experiences that bring value to our users

    • A strong portfolio that not only shows your beautiful work, but also the process you used to arrive at it
    • Relevant Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD (BFA, Human Factors, HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, etc.)
    • PASSION!

    • You have a passion for the smart home
    • Have an interest in how AI and design can work together to bring richer and fuller experiences to users
    • Enjoy challenges and a fast-paced environment
    • Expertise in marketing and/or eCommerce
    • Like pushing boundaries to challenge the “norm”
    • Experience with front-end web technologies like CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to define, plan, and lead projects
