As a Researcher at Plastiq, you’ll join a multidisciplinary Product and Design group that works closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and more. We strive to optimize the customer experience across all touch points, and push forward the strategy, research, and development of the product roadmap. As a Staff UX/Market Researcher, you’ll own and drive forward the research function at Plastiq, from developing the research processes and organization to executing primary customer research and competitive market research.

At Plastiq, you will:

    • Perform ongoing competitive and market analysis to understand and communicate fintech capabilities and messaging
    • Preparation of concise syntheses of your learnings to share and evangelize internally
    • Identify and prioritize topics for primary research, from feature-specific validation to blue-sky discovery
    • Execute qualitative and quantitative research, contextual inquiries, interviews and panels, as well as consolidate findings into archetypes, journey maps, and mind maps
    • Develop interview guides, surveys, usability tests, and additional content
    • Collaborate cross functionally with Design, Product, Marketing, and more
    • Incorporate complex technical and business requirements into your research
    • Work with and leverage data analytics to focus efforts and actionable insights
    • Organize, communicate, and archive information so it is accessible to stakeholders
    • Enable other team members to execute and improve their own research-related practices
    • Build internal frameworks and toolkits as the foundation for a research organization

You have:

    • 5+ years of experience in research (academic, technical, and UX research applicable) including experience leading research efforts
    • A background and/or degree in Anthropology, Sociology, HCI, or related fields
    • Deep familiarity with common research methodologies and tools
    • Demonstrated ability to drive business and product decisions based on research findings
    • A self-starter attitude to work autonomously, but also solicit feedback and proactively bring together stakeholders
    • Ability to use research tools like usertesting.com, surveymonkey, as well as stitch together basic prototypes from existing designs in Figma
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
    • The personality to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, value constructive feedback, and adapt on the fly
    • Bonus points for experience, knowledge, and passion for finance, fintech, or small business
