ABOUT RUBARB AND THE ROLE

rubarb is a fast-growing start-up in the booming financial industry based in Hamburg. With a team of exceptional people, we want to empower everyday people to live a worry-free financial life. Even today, access to financial products is still complex and hence unevenly distributed, when in fact, it requires simple solutions to make them accessible to all. In November 2020 we went live with the rubarb app, offering a fully automated savings and investment platform for everyday people. Customers can make use of round-ups, savings plans and one-time payments in order to save money - free of barriers to entry and sustainable.

Here’s your chance to work with our VP User Experience to continue building and expanding the app of one of the most ambitious FinTechs in Europe.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will further develop the rubarb app with beautiful animations and transitions using principle, After Effects and Lottie
• You will create the rubarb design system from scratch and be responsible for the corresponding maintenance as well as teaching stakeholders how to use it
• Together with the product team, you will research, design and test new features
• You will collaborate with app developers on a daily basis and guide them through the right design implementation
• You will conduct research regularly and suggest new ways of improving our customer touch points
• Finally, you will be keeping up to date with the latest design patterns, practices and trends and sharing this amongst the team

YOUR PROFILE

• You have strong knowledge of experience designing native Android and iOS applications, either in-house or in an agency setting
• You are skilled at creating beautiful in-app animations and transitions that enhance the user experience and overall quality of the app
• You have a good understanding of creating design systems and, ideally, possess some experience using HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JS
• You are comfortable creating user journeys and wireframes
• You have an exceptional eye for detail and take personal pride in creating high quality and user-friendly designs
• You consider yourself being a self-starter who is not afraid to proactively come up with experimental ideas
• Last but not least, you have a sense of humour, a positive outlook on life, and you love working on something meaningful with a team of many highly ambitious and smart people
