Job Brief:
The Principal Product Designer is obsessed with two things: ensuring that the right information is presented in the right way and making our customers love using the product. The ideal candidate would have a strong UI and micro animation/interaction design background with sound business acumen to be able to conceptualize features that are super easy to use, which at the same time are aligned with the business’ objectives.
Job Description:
- Lead a team of two designers (one UI focused and one UX focused) and ensure that the design voice is always reflected in everything we do
- Own the design process
- Collaborate with a cross functional team of designers and product managers on all parts of the product development lifecycle
- Ensure that the product always has the right reaction to every action that the user takes (so that the user is not only never lost, but also always feels empowered to take the next step - lower cognitive load)
- Play a major role in feature ideation and drive the design direction by working with the product team to outline business objectives and the UX/UI designers to bring this to life
- Conceptualize simple flows and elegant experiences, across our mobile and web platforms by conducting the right research and analysis
- Help us shape our visual aesthetic and create a cohesive brand presence across all our products in all countries
- Have a solid understanding of user behavior and adjust features accordingly
- Make personal finance approachable, intuitive, and engaging through innovative features and delightful micro animation and interactions
- Learn and contribute through regular design meetings and critiques
Job Specification:
- Previous startup experience is a must
- Have a great eye for flawless design
- Be obsessed with UI and interaction design, and loves the product
- The ideal candidate should have experience in slightly more senior roles at high growth startups
- Strong track record and solid portfolio showcasing interaction design, with a focus on mobile apps
- Solid business acumen and communication skills
- Ability to conceptualize features from scratch while following best practices
- A track record of successfully releasing digital products and features
- Understanding of the product release cycle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Empathy, emotional intelligence, and a love of feedback
- Extra attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
- Know what it takes to scale a design team
- Degree in a Design or a related technical field
