This job post is over 2 months oldand may no longer be available.
We’re looking for a senior designer who loves the challenge of taking complex, technical concepts, and making them accessible.
Luminary is a well-funded Series A startup that is building the world’s best cloud based simulation solution to empower engineers to rapidly iterate and test their designs during research and development cycles.
This is a great chance for an established designer to get into an early stage company and play a key role in defining the general availability version of our product that will launch next year. The immediate role is as an individual contributor but other opportunities will arise as the team scales.
Responsibilities would include:
- Gathering and streamlining product requirements from sales, product, and customers
- Translating requirements into high-level product flows
- Creating high-fidelity mockups and prototypes leveraging our existing component design library
- Refining core interaction patterns and components to accommodate new product features
- Facilitating and driving discussions to finalize designs
- Conducting user research and prototype testing sessions as needed
- Partnering with engineering to implement and ensure a high level of product quality
- Helping with all things design at a start-up - from marketing, to SWAG, to our 2nd office, etc.
We’re looking for a teammate who is:
- An experienced UX designer (5+ years) - You have a design portfolio that showcases your ability to design software that is beautiful yet powerful. You demonstrate a thoughtful understanding of user needs and can create innovative solutions to address these problems. You can cover the entire product design process from taking loosely defined requirements to hi-fidelity designs to implementation.
- Independent and product minded - You are comfortable defining and managing your own projects. You are someone who exercises good judgment and knows when to ask questions, when to leverage the right tool from the design toolkit to synthesize or solicit more information, and when to be heads down drawing. You are energized by taking projects from 0 to N.
- Excited about fluid dynamics - No prior knowledge of simulation is necessary but you are up for the challenge and have a curiosity for the space!
- Nice to have but not required - Experience with 3D tools or designing for technical applications.
In addition to a resume, a portfolio will need to be submitted.
Please let Luminary know you discovered this position on UIUXjobsboard so we can keep providing you with quality design jobs.
