Product Designer

Vertice

Description

There are thousands of SaaS tools on the market, many of which have become essential in helping organizations function and grow.

But the process of managing these software applications is both burdensome and expensive. Which is where we come in. As a SaaS purchasing platform, Vertice exists to fulfill two primary objectives: to save businesses a substantial amount of money and to save business leaders a substantial amount of time.

We do this by taking the burden of buying, managing and renewing software off their hands. We combine years of experience and SaaS knowledge, with the pricing points and transactional data for thousands of software vendors worldwide, enabling us to secure these businesses the best possible deal on all of their contracts.

Through our all-in-one SaaS management platform, we also give them the visibility they need to control their entire SaaS stack and manage their spend, all from one place.

Your Role at Vertice

This isn’t a typical Product Design position. At least, not yet. We're at a very early stage, so you won’t be inheriting legacy decisions, no broken systems and age-old issues. It can be exciting or intimidating to start from scratch, but the fun part about being involved from the beginning is that you get to help decide how things work, and get stuck in building a fantastic company, both culturally and technically from a very early stage.

Reporting into our Design Lead and working closely with the rest of the Product team, you’ll be responsible for building intuitive and friendly solutions to complex user problems — working on new analytics dashboards, data visualizations, and interaction patterns — all whilst helping to build a world-class digital design system.

This person will have a significant impact on Design and Product at Vertice, and will have a large hand in defining our product design playbook. A great candidate will work flexibly between UX and UI, and enjoy overlapping challenges to deliver work that both enables great customer experiences, and which you can be truly proud of from a design perspective.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working on solving complex design challenges with confidence.
  • Tackling open-ended design questions and building a playbook for Product Design at Vertice.
  • Partnering closely with product managers to ship new features and designs from scratch.
  • Building relationships with engineers to collaborate on front-end component building.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years experience working in a Product Design team and collaborating with engineering teams
  • Working either remotely or in-person, but always with excellent communication skills, even across multiple Product and Engineering stakeholders
  • Designed for web dashboards, portals, or data visualization tools

Things we like to see

  • A great portfolio showcasing past Product Design work
  • Any amount of B2B Software design or SaaS product experience
  • Experience within a startup environment or smaller design team
  • An interest in designing analytics, visualization or data-heavy interfaces
  • Comfortable with moderately complex concepts, and an ability to talk confidently about software
  • Humility, kindness and respect in working with others. We’re hoping to create a supportive and caring culture of high performing people, and your attitude is just as important as your skillset
  • Individuals that are eager to start something new; to commit to an ambitious plan and co-create a memorable and meaningful company. Autonomy is a highly valued quality
  • A playful, imaginative mind with an ability to think creatively, or a deeply analytical approach, able to use data to drive meaningful results. Or, of course, both :)

If you aren’t sure this job applies to you, feel free to send your CV to careers@vertice.one anyway, and we’ll be happy to take a look and see if you could be a good fit anywhere else in our business!
