As the UX/UI Designer on ZAM’s Fanbyte.com website, you will use your user experience approach and creative design skills to build compelling and accessible interfaces for the site. Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Innovation, you will frame problem statements & HMW questions, generate insights, conduct research, bring data to life, and ultimately streamline the UX/UI function into a lean mean community website building machine. We are looking for a UX/UI aficionado who can design excellent intuitive website experiences that deliver the right content to the right gaming audience every time. The Fanbyte.com team is growing communities built from the best player tools, guides, and data to enhance gamers’ experiences in and out of the games they love. You will work collaboratively across ZAM’s teams to deliver insights that impact how we approach the next generation of gamers.

As UX/UI Designer, You Will:

  • Work with the Sr Games Guide Manager and other website team members to understand user requirements to build the ideal experience for their gaming content needs
  • Leverage a strong understanding of consumer behavior and the video game industry to drive the optimal user experience on fanbyte.com
  • Work closely with a range of cross-functional teams—product, community, content, and engineering teams—to generate insights and novel ways to build web-based products
  • Understand the Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) model and apply agile methodologies to quickly build and adapt tools on the website for constantly updated content
  • Create wireframes, site architectures,  and user flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Create high-fidelity production ready UI designs
  • Conduct and/or participate in early and periodic A/B testing to validate prototypes/designs as needed 
  • Act as the connection between Fanbyte users and the business
  • Facilitate or run workshops to gather requirements and evolve your designs
  • Work closely with the dev team delivering any needed annotations/design specifications

Qualifications

5+ years of stupendous UX/UI design experience with a strong understanding of the video game industries). If you don't think you meet all of the below criteria but are interested in the job, please apply. We prioritize creative thinking and focus on passion for gaming.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Figma is a must, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is a plus
  • Knowledge of Storybook gets you brownie points
  • Well versed in the website design process and task flows
  • An intimate understanding of holistic operations for a media company that builds websites for gamers and associated gaming communities
  • You’re excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking
  • You are an analytical data-first problem solver with excellent Excel / data analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and presentation skills (prepare reports and analyze user trends and characteristics)
  • An independent, responsible and highly organized way of working, employing a creative way to engage and solve challenges
  • Confidence in dealing with a heated atmosphere and challenging situations based on your excellent team player qualities. Not taking player complaints personally
  • A desire to always be learning and improving yourself
