Ready to learn and get hands-on-experience? Jane is looking for a Product Design Intern to join our team for 12 weeks, beginning on May 15th, 2023. This person will work closely with our Design team and assist them with various tasks and projects. If you’re currently a student looking for experience in Product Design/Visual Design/UI/UX and are eager to learn from a growing eCommerce company, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Responsibilities
- Capstone project with end of program presentation for executive and senior leadership team
- Assist with the conception, design and prototyping of user experiences and interfaces (demonstrated through scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, site maps, screen flows, etc.) in technically complex applications
- Learn about and assist with responsive and grid-based web application design; learn about and assist with native application design
- Learn from User Experience Research team, identify opportunities for generative and evaluative research projects, and assist with short and long-term tasks
- Design low/high fidelity mockups and protypes, while ensuring consistency with our brand guidelines
- Implement design system parameters and standards in customized design projects
- Learn from and assist Product Managers (PMs) with deliverables; gain broader understanding of product development and engineering process
- Create and effectively present user experience deliverables to key stakeholders
Qualifications
- BA or BFA (or currently pursuing) degree in design, computer science, information science or related field
- Experience designing web-based digital properties, and a deep understanding of how design affects the customer experience
- Experience in responsive web design.
- A portfolio of web projects hosted on your own website, Dribbble, or Behance
- Experience/Understanding of design and rapid prototyping tools (Figma experience a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with project management tools and processes
- Self-starters who are results oriented and intellectually curious
- Desire to support and work with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrate collaborative interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully within a team
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fluent in Microsoft Office
