This is a San Francisco based position that is currently remote and will have a hybrid schedule once we return to office. We are open to candidates willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

ABOUT THE JOB
Geli (Growing Energy Labs, Inc) is looking for an enthusiastic UX Designer who is eager to work at the forefront of the rapidly expanding energy storage industry. As a UX designer, you will be responsible for designing the user interface and overall user experience of our products, ensuring a cohesive and user-centered design across our platform. You will collaborate with our customers, technology leaders, and product managers to understand user challenges, technical opportunities, and business needs.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with demonstrated success in a consulting/advisory role for cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Use wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, storyboards, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate the current or future user experience.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to ensure user empowerment, customer value delivery, and outcomes-driven performance.
    • Leverage and contribute to existing design systems, pattern libraries, corporate branding guidelines. Collaborate with corporate marketing and assist to further expand our Design System for use in data-intensive applications, ensuring its capability to scale as it grows.
    • Conduct user research, interviews, and design thinking workshops to understand customer needs, mental models, and working contexts.
    • Synthesize research insights to inform design decisions and create visualizations that effectively summarize key findings.
    • Participate in company-wide discussions on current user interface initiatives and future design directions.
    • Advocate for user-centered design, including research, design, and accessibility.
    • Stay updated on emerging technology, industry, and market trends.
    • Rapidly iterate on novel design solutions for new and innovative products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of experience in UX design in a high-tech company, preferably in enterprise B2B SaaS.
    • Must have a portfolio or samples of work demonstrating design rationale and process.
    • Degree in design, Information Architecture, HCI, or related field.
    • Strong understanding of Agile, Lean UX, and User-centered design methodologies.
    • Experience working with design systems and style guides.
    • Expertise in standard design, wireframing, and interactive prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch at minimum are required. Other design tools such as Adobe XD, Balsamiq, Miro, LucidChart, Axure, InVision is preferable.
    • Good knowledge of bug/issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
    • Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle software development.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate differing opinions on designs and guide cross-functional team members toward user-centered solutions.
    • Enthusiasm for getting things done, taking personal responsibility, adding value within a team setting, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to grasp and clearly communicate complex ideas to different audiences.
    • A design thinking mindset and comprehension of human-centered design principles.
    • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Desire to learn and understand new concepts or technologies quickly.
