The Senior Product Designer will be responsible for leading the user experience and aesthetic appearance for Acuity products. A seasoned professional who is committed to understanding customer needs and creating solutions that are easy to use and provide a highly engaging and visually pleasing experience. The Senior Product Designer will create meaningful and cohesive end-to-end experiences through a deep understanding of our customers and exceptional design execution.
What You Will Do:
- Work with Product Management to review business requirements and scope out sprint level design efforts
- Develop high-fidelity renderings and clickable prototypes that put the project vision and design strategy into action
- Participate in and lead UI activities in an Agile environment such as planning with engineering and UX design, take an active part in user/design research, interviews, and workshops
- Work with UX to translate findings into usable, useful, effective, engaging, and efficient user experiences and beautiful UI
- Work with other designers and developers to bring concepts to life while maintaining UX/UI best practices
- Review competing products and recommend design solutions that differentiate the organization's products from those of competitors
- Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to help shape current feature development and influence future roadmap direction
- Stay current on emerging industry trends and the competitive landscape to provide insight on ways to improve UI and platform functionality
What You Will Need:
- 5+ years of work experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Interaction Designer in a commercial software company
- Experience in user-centred/UI design with hands-on experience throughout the process, from user research to prototype mock-ups, and collaborating on implementation
- Solve challenging UX design problems by applying strategic thinking and demonstrating awareness of user goals, business goals, technology parameters, and design constraints
- Experience in delivering detailed wireframes, UX flows, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and final UI design specifications
- Ability and passion to understand distinct user groups quickly and iterate solutions to their needs
- Understanding of information architecture, design patterns, and interaction design
- Familiarity and ability to promote, manage, and conduct appropriate usability testing and user research endeavours
- Familiarity with Design and Prototyping software: Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Plant, Axure, Omnigraffle, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira, and Confluence
- Languages/Syntax: HTML, CSS. Javascript, React/Redux knowledge is desirable, but not required
