Become a part of our iconic Design System team as a Senior UX Designer and help to build the bridge between Designers and Developers, relying on your hybrid knowledge and Design System expertise to shape and uphold our Design System core principles and ongoing requirements.

Meet the Job

 

You’ll work with the Design System lead, product owners and developers to uphold, mold, improve and evolve our Design System principles and resources. The rise of agile development demands a much tighter integration between design and technology while working on structures, resources, and systems to deliver design at scale therefore you’ll get the chance to work closely with our Design Ops manager and FigmaOps specialist to achieve this. You will be actively working together with our Mobile and Web UI teams who implement the design system into reusable component libraries.

As a white-label software company, giving our customers the ability to style our product consistently and efficiently across all platforms is key to helping them toward building banking experiences their customers love - and the Backbase Design System makes this possible. 

Fintech is one of the hottest markets at the moment and there is enormous scope for talented UI/UX designers to significantly improve user experiences for customers of banks. We have a great, creative culture in the Design team with over 70 UI/UX Designers and 10 Researchers working across the organisation. We are looking for someone who will be a great addition to this team, bringing creativity, passion, and experience.

You’re passionate about Design Systems and want to specialise in it as a Senior UX Designer. You can’t wait to overcome these challenges and pave the way for millions of end users. In a nutshell, you’re ready to become a guru of the Design System at Backbase. To really excel in this role we believe that you should have:

 

• 3-5 years of UX/UI with a focus on design systems (both design kits and coded components)

• Figma is your tool of choice and you’re ready to become the ultimate advocate for it in Backbase

• Clearly communicate design choices to your team (business analysts and developers) and are able to back up your design decisions with data, past experiences and best practices.

• Passion for best design practices and upholding the principles to deliver consistency and high quality every time

• Possess a drive to bridge the worlds of design and development

• Have an up to date and online portfolio that tells the story of you and your design journey so far

• Bonus points for experience working in fintech or digital banking
