Who we're looking for
We are seeking a creative design intern to join our team from May to August 2024. You must be enrolled in a design program, skilled in crafting user experiences, and proficient in using Figma. You will be involved in the complete design process, from research to refining and presenting concepts. Attention to detail and a strong interest in industry trends are valued. This position is fully remote.

In this role, you will
- Utilize human-centred design principles and product design fundamentals throughout the entire design lifecycle, including user research, collaborative brainstorming, rapid ideation and iteration, user testing, and adherence to industry best practices regarding inclusivity and accessibility.
- Develop complete user experiences from inception to completion by crafting proof-of-concepts, wireframes, polished visual design compositions, and interactive prototypes that offer a variety of choices.
- Create consistent and scalable layouts, matching existing design styles, patterns, and components.
- Collaborate closely with product owners and the engineering team to define product requirements, identify pain points, refine user flows, and overcome design obstacles.
- Confidently and clearly present work and design decisions to receive feedback, make revisions, and document the development of ideas across multiple design iterations.
- Maintain and update the existing design program to ensure consistency and scaleability across the platform.
What we're looking for
- Enrolment in a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree program in Design.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UX/UI design projects.
- Solid understanding of design principles and skills, including colour theory, typography, designing graphical elements (e.g. icons and illustrations), and responsive layouts for various screen sizes.
- Advanced knowledge of the Figma design and prototyping environment.
- A strong analytical mind coupled with a creative flair.
- Meticulous attention to detail, always striving to enhance designs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills.
- A commitment to staying updated on industry trends and best practices while advocating for Design with non-design audiences.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in designing infographics and visualizing data.
- Familiarity with communication and collaboration platforms such as Slack, Confluence, JIRA, and Miro.
