As a Senior UX Researcher in our Consumer org, you’ll investigate user behavior and user needs using both qualitative methods (including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, journey mapping) and quantitative methods (including survey research) by designing and conducting foundational and evaluative research to guide executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will be able to combine their quantitative and qualitative skills to drive product strategy and improve the user experience for Reddit Chat and other impactful 0>1, innovative products!
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies, including foundational/generative and tactical research.
- Lead communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners, including engineering, data science, design, product/program management, etc.
- Develop research programs that achieve business and product impact
- Mentor and coach junior researchers
- Drive product strategy via actionable insights
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience conducting research
- Understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
- Strong methodological foundation in either quantitative or qualitative research.
- Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work quickly to turn around high-quality research insights; can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible, adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
- Experience working in ambiguity and complex cross-functional collaborations.
Nice to Haves:
- Masters or Ph.D. in Statistics, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, related fields, or equivalent experience
