Aiimi is looking for a UX Consultant to join our growing Engineering team. All CVs must be accompanied by a portfolio and/or website link.

Are you a UX consultant with expertise in product design and UX research, definition, and delivery? Do you thrive on technical challenges and the opportunity to help shape and evolve the concepts and solutions for an extensive client base? If you're nodding along, then this role as a UX Consultant might just be your jam. 

A Day in the Life of a UX Consultant:

Strategic Context: 

  • Understand the bigger picture and how a single digital experience works as part of a larger ecosystem.
  • Identify the right questions to ask and methodologies to use to keep a project or conversation moving forward. 
  • Collaborate with clients, project teams and senior stakeholders, to shape the overall user experience and align it with business objectives.
  • Keep up to date on the latest UX trends and technologies, in particular the role of AI and integrating innovative design thinking.

UX Approach: 

  • Conduct UX research: identifying, planning, driving, conducting, analysing and reporting using qualitative and quantitative research methods to apply to research questions. 
  • Take ownership of the design process from ideation to execution, upholding the highest standards for quality, innovation and efficiency for our products. 
  • Adapt your processes to work across multiple projects with varying needs, timescales, budgets and development methodologies. 
  • Practice a participatory methodology, involving users from an early stage of the project through to completion via requirements workshops, co-creation sessions, and innovative testing methods to address complex challenges and ensure user satisfaction. 

UX Outputs:  

  • Produce the artefacts needed to develop and evolve product definition and user experience design (Journey maps, IA diagrams, synthesised research, wireframes, prototype etc.) 
  • Elevate UX outputs ensuring (i) excellence in the presentation of concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences (ii) they adhere to best practices and (iii) they apply to the specific challenges/opportunities identified.  
  • Produce finalised UI designs, components and design handover documents, collaborating with developers during the handover and production of products.

Win work: 

  • Participate in and lead the UX sections of business pitches. Helping to define the approach, estimating effort, and presenting ideas to prospective clients.

  • Identify process problems and work towards their resolution across all parts of the design process.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field or relevant work experience.
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills - you will need to be comfortable managing a varied workload and working to deadlines.
  • A deep understanding of client goals, constraints and industry context, able to tailor communication and approach accordingly.  
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with knowledge of Figma or similar design and prototyping tools would be an advantage.
  • A people person – you’ll love working with colleagues across the business to create outputs for lots of different teams. You’re Inherently curious, you’ll want to learn more about our technology, what we do, our industry, where we’re going and how it can help organisations to succeed.  
  • Have the initiative and confidence to start things from scratch and where you’re in unfamiliar territory you dare to press the Brave Button and give it a go.
